    I cant verify this but try changing disable_arrow_markers = 0 to 1 in the medieval2.preferences.cfg file in your M2TW directory.

    You'll want to use a text editor program, like notepad.

    Caesar Clivus is correct, is also works with Vista. Open up the file in notepad (located at C:\programfiles\sega\medieval, press control + F, find disable_arrow_markers = 1 (or something similar to it), and set it to 0.

    Shabby_Ronin, are you sure you are opening the "medieval2.preference" file? I noticed a file like what you are seeing when I was poking around before, but i can't remember where.

    I am asking because you said "in my preferences folder," and there is a preferences folder located in M2TW's main directory but that is not what you want.

    The file you want would be located in your root/main medieval 2 (not SS) directory and looks like this when opened:

    [audio]
    enable = 1
    master_vol = 100
    music_vol = 56
    provider = Creative Labs EAX 3 (TM)
    sfx_vol = 100
    speech_enable = 1
    speech_vol = 100
    sub_faction_accents = 1

    [camera]
    default_in_battle = rts
    move = 50
    restrict = 1
    rotate = 50

    [controls]
    campaign_scroll_max_zoom = 30
    campaign_scroll_min_zoom = 30
    keyset = 1

    [game]
    advanced_stats_always = 0
    advisor_verbosity = 0
    ai_factions = follow
    allusers = 1
    auto_save = 1
    blind_advisor = 0
    campaign_map_game_speed = 37
    campaign_map_speed_up = 0
    campaign_num_time_play = 177
    chat_msg_duration = 10000
    disable_arrow_markers = 1

    I put in bold letters where you want to change the 0 to a 1 (as I did here). The file is longer than what I posted, but I stopped it where the change you are looking to make is located.

    Hope this helps.

    yah i know, its just there is no other file there, the only one i have is the one i copied and pasted on the above post...i never had this problem with xp...just now that i have vista i cant seem to do anything easily

    can anybody with vista can tell me where their file is...and if they have the one i have in the main directory like this

    [video]
    widescreen=1
    [game]
    allusers=1

    i'm just worried this obnoxious security vista has isnt allowing me to see the file...and i havnt figured out how to show hidden files yet on vista

    edit ha, well, when i opened it with microsoft word i got all the options, but not with good ol' notepad...hmmm wonder why :hmmm:

    You can also just add the line to either SS or vanilla's .cfg file.

    Code:
    [game]
    disable_arrow_markers = 1
