I hope you enjoy what I've done for the MTW2-Kingdoms-SS mod:
I cant verify this but try changing disable_arrow_markers = 0 to 1 in the medieval2.preferences.cfg file in your M2TW directory.
If you want to just take a scren shot, without selected unit? press enter.

Or click the unit while holding down ctrl...

What program opens the "medieval2.preferences.cfg"![]()
Thanks
i just got a new computer with vista (hate it) and i cant get anything to show up in the preferences file but widescreen 1 and all users 1
i need to get rid of these circles!
anybody got a solution that has vista?
Caesar Clivus is correct, is also works with Vista. Open up the file in notepad (located at C:\programfiles\sega\medieval, press control + F, find disable_arrow_markers = 1 (or something similar to it), and set it to 0.
E8400

Windows 7 Ultimate X64
yeah, but all i have in my preferences folder is
[video]
widescreen=1
[game]
allusers=1
what gives?
Shabby_Ronin, are you sure you are opening the "medieval2.preference" file? I noticed a file like what you are seeing when I was poking around before, but i can't remember where.
I am asking because you said "in my preferences folder," and there is a preferences folder located in M2TW's main directory but that is not what you want.
The file you want would be located in your root/main medieval 2 (not SS) directory and looks like this when opened:
[audio]
enable = 1
master_vol = 100
music_vol = 56
provider = Creative Labs EAX 3 (TM)
sfx_vol = 100
speech_enable = 1
speech_vol = 100
sub_faction_accents = 1
[camera]
default_in_battle = rts
move = 50
restrict = 1
rotate = 50
[controls]
campaign_scroll_max_zoom = 30
campaign_scroll_min_zoom = 30
keyset = 1
[game]
advanced_stats_always = 0
advisor_verbosity = 0
ai_factions = follow
allusers = 1
auto_save = 1
blind_advisor = 0
campaign_map_game_speed = 37
campaign_map_speed_up = 0
campaign_num_time_play = 177
chat_msg_duration = 10000
disable_arrow_markers = 1
I put in bold letters where you want to change the 0 to a 1 (as I did here). The file is longer than what I posted, but I stopped it where the change you are looking to make is located.
Hope this helps.

can anybody with vista can tell me where their file is...and if they have the one i have in the main directory like this
[video]
