Not just US but western help to the point the French were pondering trying to make the UN force them to accept the aid. Evidently the goverment (I use the term loosely) is more interested in aid workers getting proper visas then they are in helping their people.

Basically they want all the stuff, food, clothing, money but they will handle the rest. A country that is organized, wealthy as the US managed to screw up Katrina Im sure the qualifications of a corrupt, repressive regime is more then capable of handling a disaster on a scale makes Katrina look like a rain storm.Wonder how many people have died since as they drag their feet around on this. Right now looking at 80-100k dead, atleast a million homeless. But hey atlest their constitution referendum is on track for May 10th...yeah Im sure starving, homeless people looking for lost family and friends sure are going to find time to go vote.
I heard a group of American Christian missionaries got kidnapped whilst handing out aid. The US had to use mercs to get them out. They were helped by some "boat man" who turned out to be an ex-Green Beret. They shouldn't have pushed him. People keep pushing him.

The Burmese authorities are actually impounding UN food aid.

Thats the point where a government needs intervention when they care more about seemingly being in control then helping the people they oppress.

I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

myanmar should declare it has oil reserves that would get them invaded.
Wow US special forces have to be the nastiest looking soldiers ever!! I don't think an attack on Myanmar could be considered an invasion as the current government shouldn't be in power as it would pretty hard to get worse then the current dictatorship.

Id like to see how many of Myanmars neighbors and Asian powers are to defend its despicable government now. F'ing murderous bastards. Not accepting aid is a situation like this is murdering ones own population in my book.
Hopefully, one day these people will stand trial in front of a free Burmese people lead by Aung San Suu Kyi.

By the way, though my avatar might indicate so, I am not a citizen of Germany, though my ancestry have a branch in this great nation.
