Default Al Qaeda in Iraq leader arrested

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080508/.../iraq_al_qaida

This is the guy who replaced Zarqawi when he was killed. He was also responsible for butchering 3 American POWs who were captured shortly after and video taping the corpses.

Glad we got this scumbag alive. Looks like someone's getting waterboarded.

Interesting that the butchering of our PoW's by the man doesn't concern.

Lends support to the Democrats claims that they support the troops also.

It's great that he's caught. His life as he knew it is now over. Wonder how much we can learn from him about Al Qaeda?

Given the fact that his group has no connections to Al Qaida, other than the name they got from the CIA when they couldn't find any real Al Qaida members in Iraq and so had to invent their own "Al Qaida in Iraq" to save what was left of their reputation....I would say nothing.

Read more and you will find that so-called for convenience sake 'Al-Quida in Iraq' was an ally/offshoot of Al-Quida when it was known by its first original name (I forget at the moment), and it was established in Iraq when Sadam was in power and Sadam ignored it, turned a blind eye to it but he did not hinder it.

Funny then, how in the run up to the war the CIA was full about Iraq/Al Qaida connections, but never even mentioned the now legendary "Al Qaida in Iraq" until after the invasion went bad.

Why, for example, did they declare victory before even starting to go after "Al Qaida (in Iraq)", wasn't going after Al Qaida one of the prime objectives in that war?

Then your lucky we are in interrogating you for what you know then, ain't ya?As it appears to be nothing. I'm amazed by the internet posters who seem to think they know what is not known.

Until then, we shall proceed with the interrogation of our new "friend".

Let me rephrase myself then: I know there has never been any indication of a connection between "Al Qaida in Iraq" and the true Al Qaida.
But of course, even W. Bush himself could technically be the secret leader of Al Qaida, for all we can tell.

But I don't make random assumptions without any clear indications, I'm not a religious person.

    Yes quite curious . . .
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

    Oh.

Removing a terrorist is a good thing. That's the state of things, today, unfortunately.

There are ways to obtain information without torture, as previously linked up above.

No, the group is called Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn which is often called "al-Qaeda in Iraq" or "al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia"

It's actual name translates to "Organization of Jihad's Base in the Country of the Two Rivers".

The best two parts about this is that he was taken alive and by the Iraqi police.

Maybe use approaches being pioneered by the FBI. Empathy might work.

They should've handed him over to the Sunni militias.

/lends his voice to the chorus of un-american people crying for this man to be tortured

quick, get the nut clamps and find an outlet, lets see how much "information" we can get out of him. Better yet, lets see if he can give us any information after we cut out his tongue.

God bless Ameri- i mean, God Bless the republican party

removing a terrorist, after you let him into the country, is a good thing but its not really progress, its just a return of the status quo.

The people are too stupid to bother checking the facts.

He was a terrorist before 2003 sport. He trained in Afghan training camps. Facts indeed.
