Questions on Imperium Julianorum.

I just installed IJ and i like the feel of it very much.

1) Unfortunately there are sone strange graphical errors, i have with no other mod.
Its like white squares flickering, and sometimes the whole screen, exept settlement labels, is white.
Is there something to do against that?

2) Why can't I build Auxilia after the selltement reaches a certain size?
Shouldn't a town always be able to build the lowest kind of infantry and not suddenly loose the capability of doing so?

I can't explain this as I've never come across it before. I assume that you have included the IJV2.01a patch with your download.

It seems to me to relate more to your graphics card.

When you say that you have had no problems with other mods do you mean other IB mods as well such as IBV7.03?

I suggest that you try lowering your graphics settings and/or try reinstalling IJ.

Please make sure that you have clean RTW/BI folders as other mods change some files in these folders and can have some effects on the IB mods in general.

I installed a lot from the OPTIONS folder, like the script and CA textures, and after that it works, I don't know which of them it was, though.

Actually, most likely the CA strat map. I remember I had trouble with Gaul CTD's a long while back, and JH suggested the CA Strat Map, and it worked.

I suggest you check out the other thing, or set the CA Strat Map as the automatic, julianus, could save you some work :p

It was fun when I noticed the graphic errors were gone.
But after that IJ was unplayable because of the constant CTD's,
(who always were there, but I didn't play long enough to notice).
Crashes always when just when going out of a battle. (Which is the worst kind.)
It not even reaches the loading screen.
I think it happenes more often when my PC is getting slower, the first
battle after a reboot mostly works. But my PC can still play the game fine.

It would be great if we could find a reason for that, I reinstalled a few times, so it's a completely clean install.

Sounds like the dreaded quotes files. Please delete the quotes.txt file which you will find in the IJ/data/text folder. Also delete the descr_quotes_lookup.txt file and the descr_transtion_screen.txt files which are in the IJ/data folder. That should fix most of your CTDs.

Thanks. I will try that. Why didn't I think about that?
I read about the dreaded quotes file in at least two other threats.
Well, do you think it could be that even it works sometimes?
And even it is a functional install of 2.01a?
I just don't want to get my hopes up before i will be able to play in a few weeks.

with the file structure of IJ 2, some quotes, with no apparent logic, seem to create exactly the CTD you described. Sometimes they work, sometimes don't. Placing the custom quotes files in a different way seems to fix the bug almost completely (almost because some rare CTD still happen, but I don't know if the quotes are still the cause)
