Orange or yellow "rajaput" states?
Solankis.
Actually I'd go for the Ghorids, their ghazis are cheap - even their Ghazi Heavy Axemen. Solankis have cheap units but they aren't very motivated.
All ghazis units are ugly actually..dont like Islam units except their heavy cavalry.![]()
If you really want just go Solankis and spam Bharat Light Spearmen, Hindu Longbowmen, and Triban Indian Javelinmen. They wear nothing but shorts and turbans, wielding the utterly cheapest cowhide shields and perhaps even flint spearheads for their bamboo pigstickers and javelins. 160 florins a pop and 80 florins per season, whether it be monsoon or dry.
the imamt of oman would be what u r looking for, if u had rome TW, then they are like the barbarians, gauls, brittanies or germans, dacians ,..... etc.
What are you talking about... not that I disagree, but what you said didn't make sense...![]()
no, they are the same. had cheap units but lots of them, also they doesn't have heavy armor and that what the gaul or brittan factions was in rome TW
i dont compare it as in real world. i compare oman in bc, with gauls in RTW.
if u were arabian, there is something in poems called "The representational simile"
it is the same.
Now I understand. All you mean is
"RTW Barbarians lack armor/technology"
You listed a LOT of factions - Gauls, Britons, Germans, Dacians - these factions can be quite different in their own right. The only similarity they have is that they do not have the technology of non-barbarian factions.
"Oman lacks armor/technology"
I wouldn't call these guys barbarians, although many other people throughout the Muslim world considered Bedu to be barbaric and uncivilized. The Omanis had wealth, with a developed civilization - probably more than Europe - but in BC they lack technology and heavy armor and advanced weapons. Yes.
I understand you may not speak fluent English, I grew up in a family full of pretty bad English speakers. But I was just confused there!
There was even a similie in my "zerg" comment - zerglins were cheap and simple units in the game Starcraft, that were (as some of the unit cards in BC say) "more effective than their cost [suggests]"
I got tired of using hit and run tactics with horse archers (use up all my ammo then withdraw from battle inflicting 500 casualties and losing maybe 50 men..), it's effective to the point where it's almost boring, and it's also a tedious battle to keep moving so many units so they are not trapped by the edges of the battle map (I am convinced skirmish mode means "run to the nearest edge of the battle map and get yourself trapped" lol I will check the manual![]()
After a while the effort wears me out and I want to go back to simpler infantry/artillery/light cavalry tactics.
Alright then. Bharat Light Spearmen are THE zerglings - so utterly cheap. Hindu Longbowmen are the hydralisks that scour away armies fielded en masse. There's very little cavalry except for elephants which are your ultralisks.
Meh? That wasn't even a serious attempt at humor - but thanks!![]()
Makuria is pretty light/massed, but I agree the Solanki Rajputs are probably your best bet, which the Ghorids a close second.
I just checked out Makuria and they are another excellent "zerg" faction - this time with highly motivated troops. Oman counts somewhat, they are lacking in mounted archers except Bado Camel Archers which are slower and not as all-conquering as horse archers. It's basically light swordsmen, light cavalry, with good archer support.
Thanks for the responses I will try Oman this time round, looks a quite interesting roster and it seems I can build up good sea trade unmolested (for the time being).
