    Default Eriador faction?

I just wanted to ask, what the Eriador faction is supposed to be? I mean, what perioid of the Third Age are we dealing with? The only kingdoms in Eriador were Arnor and Angmar, but as I see, you want to make a War of The Ring time-perioid mod. And Arnor and Angmar were long gone by that time.
The only formidable force (but very small) left in Eriador were the Rangers, but that's too little to make a faction.

I presume the maker is just going to lump all the free people found in the north together and call them a faction Eriador. It'll probably be Hobbits and Rangers and Elves from gray havens lol.

Grey Havens weren't a part of Eriador, so that put's out the Elves from Mithlond.

But please, there wasn't any formidable force left in Eriador at the end of the Age! The whole land was depopulated, the old cities of Arnor laid in ruins....
But I wouldn't have anything against a Shire mini faction

It's simple, Eriador is same as Free People of Middle-earth in LotR: TW (without 1 region at the west side of Mirkwood). The were still thousands of people in eriador at the end of Third Age in some towns like Bree. So Eriador faction includes Shire (hobbits), Bree and some other towns. I think rangers are only as mercenary units or available to recruit for Eriador.

Dwarves had colonies in the Blue Mountains, true, but Dwarves will go with Dwarves, not Eriador. But they could be as mercenaries in the area around the mountains

That sounds like a good idea, but as Deathmaw stated earlier, there were still plenty of dwarves in the general area, and considering that there won't be a hobbit faction, it would be nice to have a faction there.

The blue mountians were not part of Eriador they were part of Beleriand, when beleriand sunk into the sea most of the Blue mountians went with it, what was left was a small section of the blue mountians split in two by the gulf of Lune. This left only a small section of Belerian which was west of the Blue mountians which was named Lindon. This became a refuge of some Dwavish kingdoms. So no Dwarves were not part of Eriador. Also Gimli was living in Erebor at the time of the war of the ring.

I think Hobbiton should be replaced with Shire, because if I'm right Hobbiton was only one part of Shire

Btw, here's one map that might help in this problem that which cities will there be in Eriador http://www.tuckborough.net/images/eriador-map.gif

Yes but it was a group of small towns like Hobbiton and in those small towns were only few hundred hobbits, so it would be kind of silly to name a city as Hobbiton, right?
