    Default Family members not marrying

I am playing as the Turks and my family has 8 male generals who won't marry. In fact, other than my King, only his heir has a wife, no one else. Not even my adopted kids are willing to marry. .

Is there a file I can edit to increase the marrying rate?

I have already looked at the descr_campaign_db.xml file.

    Thanks for the help.

I got the same thing with byzantium, i played for 30 turns and not a single marriage offer... It used to be much more frequent. Anyway to check if its somehow disabled?
This isn't right, this isn't even wrong. This isn't anything!

It might have to do with a ratio of settlements too the number of family members maybe?

    so that ratio is significant?
i did notice that i could no longer get 1 unit to auto_win against a rebel and become a family member anymore.

I seem to get one every heroic victory. Rather annoying having youngin's around age 10 that might turn out good, and get offered a 3 star 2 chiv 6 loyalty godsend just for using an entire quiver with a horse archer unit on some spearmen.

I'm experiencing the same problems with The Templar Knights faction. My faction heir is 26, unmarried, never been offered a marriage and when I try to marry him to other faction princess's I don't get the Marry Faction heir to princess option. It can't be a expansion thing because I have settlements that don't have governors because I don't have enough family members to man them all. Any help would be appreciated

Yes I am getting the same thing as well. In fact I had to restart my England campaign because all of my generals where about to die of old age and I didnt have a single son or daughter among them. I believe only 2 of them where married out of 6.

Edit --- I just checked the character traits file and the triggers for marriage offers look like they have been changed from the previous version. I cant really tell what trigger affects what and how. But I am guessing that has something to do with it.

Edit Part 2 ---- Ok after looking at the trigger for an offer of marriage I found that 2 of the traits it looks for have been removed in the traits file. GoodAttacker and GoodDefender have both been removed. They are still there as part of the trigger so I think that is giving the generals a much lower chance of getting marriage offers.

Not too sure how to fix this properly or if it was done intentional but either way for now I'll be giving my generals some traits maybe a little before they deserve it <grin>

Any idea where the triggers for the "bride_available_for_family_member" event is, I did a text search for that string in both the SS folder and in the main M2TW folder and all I found was enums, images, and sounds, sadly no triggers.

We need to figure out the cause of this..bad traits? Would really like to find a solution; I even increased their marrying and fertility age a little, would hate to start a new campaign as I'm having so much fun with my current one.

Evidently now they are flocking around Constantinople, the "in" place to be..

It has nothing to do with traits, something I dislike as you would think that fertility would have a great effect. In my experience as byzantium I find that as soon as my prince marries, I get a whole set of offers, so it looks like the game sees the Prince as important, which makes sense. However after that the number of children is based on settlement/general ratio, which is why I am very careful about accepting any Adoption/Man of the Hour characters. The maximum children is set in the db to be 4, which although you can exceed this vaule, leads to the family tree vanishing later in the game.

I am playing as english and have this issue.

When i start my king is married. I get princess for my prince and brothers. They get children. But after this the problem starts and i think it may be because I am not accepting anyone outside my bloodline into my family.

If my generals get daughers i will not accept anyone to marry them. I only offer my princesses to other allies or my own princes. So if a general have a daugher and he is not a prince or king you will not be able to do anything with his daugher. This may be the reason of this. Maybe if u decline any offers to your daughers the process will stop there. Reason for my theory is that i tested accepting all offers and didnt have this problem then. But when i play with my pure bloodline i get kicked in the arse in 3rd generation.

But if there is any other reason or if this is fixable please let me know. But fustrated here. hehe

Yeah this is very strange. I dont remember having this problem in SS 5 at all.
I just started a new English campaign and well my first 3 generals havent gotten married at all. The oldest 2 are in their late 30's and I havent gotten an offer yet.

I am curious as to what the numbers mean in the triggers section. I looked at the offer of marriage trigger and are those percentage points? and are they cumilitive?

On a side note I noticed that Im not getting order houses like the templars or st. johns. Even if I conquer a moorish city and held it for quite some time. Course that is another subject. That is as England as well.

EDIT --- Rozanov posted this link in another article which answers my question. Its a good tutorial, thanks to Rozanov for posting it! And Alpaca for making it!
