    Default Scots n' Armor

Great call on the Scots Guard for Scotland. That's a great addition that chages the late strategy for them. I love the Scots, my only small critique is that Noble pikemen have an armor of 4 and Noble swordsman have an armor of 9...
I know armor values are a little skewed and that pikes were supposed to be more vulnerable to missles in this version but as the best pikemen in the game it wouldn't hurt to bump up that armor value.
Any other thoughts on armor incongruities in 6.1?

I am not too happy about the current scottish skins, some look rather terrible, wouldnt these look a lot better?

It seem to be just for the highlander units but I love the realism here, no overly bright colors and realistic shields.

You might come pair them to the rest of the pike units rather than heavy infantry. I know if you get the RR sub mod installed with 6.1 the wepons play some part in defence, like parying iwth swords and stuf, but pikes aren't good for that so they don't have a bounus there. That could be what you are seeing.

Has anyone ever attempted to portray the Scots in an accurate way.....for gods sake it was an kingdom with nobles.I expect the Scotish Lords to look more like English men in terms of armor.

There are noble swordsmen, pikemen and feudal knights for that.

Scots Guard is going to make Scotland one powerful force. Much more so than they were in reality I imagine. But then again I guess this game is about "what ifs" as much as reality.

But with the powerful Scottish pikes and infantry and the Scot's Guard they will have quite a good infantry army.

Scottish infantry is still a joke, they got good pikes but their spear, sword and axe infantry is nothing too great.

They have the Golliach (sp) and really if you are using pikes right you don't need other infantry. Not to mention Scot's Guard are so good you can easily us them as frontline infantry. I have done it and they perform excellently.

Golliach, i cant remember how to spell it either. Are a rare mercenary, and besides that they are extremely expensive, 820 florins plus a 300 something upkeep. thats alot

Playing 6.1, but can't see any Scots Guard unit for Scotland in the building tree. Do I have to wait for any event or smething?

I don't see Scots Guards attributed to to Scotland in either export_descr_unit or export_descr_building with RealRecruitment installed. It is probably because RR and RC1.5 came before 6.1.

I do belive that RR and RC were retooled for for 6.0 and again for 6.1

I don't doubt that, but the Scots Guard change seems to have been missed. Its just not present in export_descr_building and export_descr_unit_stat

that fact is the scots always seem to be underpowered, but they managed to keep the english down sout where they belonged throughout the medieval era! oh yeah, the scots always beat the english up north. the scots should have a bonus when fighting in their homeland either that or better stats maybe even better units!

Ehh your history is a little flawed there.

I did a search and found this thread but no answer in it.

My question is, when do the scots guard appear for scotland? its turn 90 in my late era campaign and I havent seen them show up yet, and yes i do have the building reqs.

I see them listed as recruitable for Scotland in the buildings file, but not in the units file.

Update: I added scotland to the unit file and now they are recruitable for scotland.
