    Default From ALEX to BI

Hi everyone, I have a simple question, with a potentially not so simple answer: How do I switch from the ALEX.exe to BI?

The last installer afaik had a BI shortcut together withe the regular.

It should be about: ..."RomaSurrectum\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -show_err -mod

and sure you should have a disc with a BI on it

Yeah I have the disc and everything, but I was wondering as their are several file changes you have to make in order to use ALEX.exe I was wondering wether or not I have to reverse those changes.

Mmmh, yes that could be. Then you need a second install. You may have an unaltered RTW-BI which you can copy. It might be enough though, if you uninstall RS and reinstall the mod with the latest installer.

What's wrong with the Alex.exe? I thought it was the Jingle Bomb and all?

I'm sure ALX is probably the most foolproof, I just wanted to test them both to see the difference. Like the naval invasion thing for e.g, I'm not sure if the naval invasions increase much from RTW to Alex, seeing as the Alex.exe was built for a campaign that featured pretty much zero naval activity.

Besides... I'm in a curious mood

RS BI is fun because of the BI features (shieldwall, swimming, etc.).

If you've edited the files to stop your family members from being immortal then I'd suggest a fresh install.

If you've kept a clean RTW 1.5 RTW BI 1.6 then this is a fairly simple process. Just copy the clean folder to a new folder and apply the RS 1.5 patches.

I don't know if naval invasions are any better in ALX than BI. Make sure the faction you are playing in the BI campaign is similar to the one in ALX. Some factions have the prefers naval invasions attribute.

When playing ALX campaigns I've seen fleets of rebels with full stack armies sail past Corsica on the way to Iberia.

Each campaign is slightly different. I've seen campaigns where the Seleucids destroy the Ptolemaics and everything else around and I've seen the AI factions gang up and take out the Seleucids.

You don't need to undo the changes, as if they were done properly, there'd be no effect at all on running the campaign with another exe.

thanks squid, I was wondering that myself. My other main reason for wanting to switch is the shieldwall formation. It would allow me to play the romans more historically imo.
