Default Diplomacy mod for SS 6x?

    Hey folks,

i remembering playing a mod with a diplomacy mod (i mean it was from Grandviz) where the AI factions were building ally blocks. And the amazing thing was: If one of the block declares war on one in the other block it soon become a full scale "international" affair where blocks fighting eachother.

Is something like that still available? for SS6 ??? I really loved the block-wars, thats better then all vs. all.

Thx Quark, but it seems i remembered wrong or the latest version of UAI doesent support "block wars" and the thing worriying me most is the fact that this mod is really out dated. It was released in Sep. 2007, even if the AI is building blocks i fear the campaign AI is horrible compared to the current campaign AI of SS6x.

    Damit i wanna have blocks

i used uai, and it definitely led to "block wars". i'm also experiencing one in my current game, using lusted's lands to conquer gold: hre, poland, byz, portugal vs. hungary, venice (vassal: milan), france, england. although i'm playing scotland and i'm at war with england (of course...) and allied with hre (and thereby sort of on the side of the first block), i've created a third block with novgorod, denmark and spain (vassal of the moors, ups). is that the kind of game your're looking for?

ps playing on hard campaign setting - imho the only good setting for diplomatic games

pps older is not outdated - since you can only change so much within a framework (i.e. mtw2 game engine), newer is not automatically improved

m8 thats exactly what im searching for.
And you are experience this in SS6x????
Of course you are absoulut right with your definitions about "new" and "old" but while reading through the UAI Forum ive read of problems i remember - but never seen in SS.But never mind.

Would you do me a favor and send me the only AI files i would need for SS6.0 or SS6.1 for block wars - i dont care if Lusted or GrandViz just the files you think are best.

The Grandviz AI pack is currently not downloadable so...

If you would send it per E-Mail: stef_bast@web.de. Or maybe you could host it here?

However many thanks for your reply.

sorry to disappoint you, i've experienced this in ltc gold and uai only (as i wrote...). in ss5.1 the diplomacy also worked fine to allow for some blockbuilding (it used lusted's ai, i think). i have not yet played enough of ss6.1 (started a few campaigns, but didn't progress very far)

if you look at this thread:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=138529

it's about using lusted's ai without the lands to conquer mod, but i don't know how well it would work with ss6.1 - you'll have to try it out. or ask someone more knowledgeable than me :-)

5.1 has great alliance blocks. There was usually 2 or 3 big ones that would all declare war on each other's enemies, so there was an excellent division of power. I haven't seen this happen in 6.1, though, if I recall, some people complained about it and it was removed.
