Two problems
I have found two problems in the game:
1- this
(look at the name of the unit, in case you don't see it)
2- My new born keep getting educated "outside" settlements. For example, one of my family blood members came of age. I decided to send him to a castle to train. It took him 3 turns to get there. By the time he got there, he was a junior (not a freshman).

Well as to point two, they are not getting educated, they are just loosing there education time as have 5 years to complete, and each year is given a name. I agree though that the names could do with changing, its hard though to come with a one word reducing education title :hmmm:

Are you sure that you have installed everything correctly?
Your character is a war council member but i don't see any text next to the sword ancil.
