Unspecified Error Crash on Diplomacy Tab Click...

This crash occurs only when clicking the diplomacy tab in campaign. It only occurs with one specific faction, because I've removed all factions and one-by-one reintroduced them without repeating this crash. The offending faction exists midway through the list of playable factions, too, so I am absolutely sure that this crash deals specifically with this one faction.

Checking the descr_strat entry, the faction spelling is correct with descr_sm_factions. The campaign loads, the faction is present as normal, and the campaign survives several turns without crash.

It's literally only a problem when clicking the diplomacy tab and only when I have this faction in the game. Has anyone heard of something like this?

Sounds like a problem with the expanded.txt file. Is it a custom or standard faction?

It's a custom faction. I looked back over the relevant entries in expanded, but it doesn't look like anything is missing. Plus, it the game survived boot-up and even loaded the mod.

I've had this happen before when I ported Wales into my Europa mod but forgot to change the religion from Wales to Catholic. Check the religion line in descr_sm_factions & the ai label in descr_strat.

Freakin' hilarious, Harry!!! I have been using a standard ai_label in descr_strat for all factions, regardless of their religion and hadn't had any similar crash, so I figured it was not that, but your post helped me catch the real culprit.

As it turns out, I had not forgotten to change the religion (which also was a custom religion). Instead, I had a typo in my faction religion entry in descr_sm_factions!!! All this time, it was surviving boot even with a gross error like that!!! Thanks for the catch, because I never would have gone back to that file to double check that. Works like a charm now.
