Is the 1.3 patch important?

Because for some reason, even though update 1.2 worked fine, it says that data_0.pack is missing or invalid. How can this be? everything seems fine!

Answering your title, instead of the body of your post: Patch 1.3 is not important unless you wish to install Kingdoms. However, it does not hurt to install 1.3, even if you are not going to install Kingdoms.

I run vanilla M2TW patched to 1.2.

Only for the Kingdoms campaigns but does not change anything worthy in the game.

i am also having the same problem installing patch 1.3 with the misisng data pack 0 thingie

i need to install kingdoms aswell so im abit upset

The best way, not the easiest way is to totally uninstall, delete anything M2TW, clean the registry, reboot, reinstall M2TW, use My Computer, explore the disc, manually install update 2, manually install update 3, then install Kingdoms.

Your install is already messed up or your 1.3 patch would be there so the answer is no.

If you dont want to play the campaigns of Kingdoms you dont need the Patch. But the patch does not correct anything special. I don't use it.

Hi! I did manage to manually update the 1.02 patch, but got that same nasty
data_0.pack missing or invalid error message. How can I manually install the 1.3 update when it absolutely not install? Has sega been notified of this egregious error? Thanks!

What steps are you taking to update? Elaborate on the subject, please. What version of Medieval II Total War did you buy? What language of it did you buy? Where did you get the 1.02 patch? What language is the patch?
