found why i've messed up billmen units...tried to install this mod over 6.1
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...erious+samurai
it is named under patch 1.3 and increases lenght of the billmen's weapon...
the result is very nice but 2 of 4 billmen units in england roster (only tried this faction because of high number of billmens) got messed up textures!
any help on adapting this beautiful mini mod?
i've tried a campaign game with scotland, and scottish border horse are ok! wtf??:hmmm:
for me, the border horses sometimes look fine and sometimes look bad :hmmm:
the ones with the armor upgrade are fine, the ones without are the ones which are messed up
You can fix by opening battlemodels.modeldb with notepad, find the border_horse entry, and replace the two texture references for scotland and slave with what I have highlighted here:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Backup your original and be careful to paste/replace exactly what I highlighted

Thanks for the fix! I also had this problem...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
One minor change needs to be made, I noticed when playing the rebels,
The normal texture needs to be the same for both scotland and slave:

I have a prob:
Done everything as u said but when I want to save the whole thing my pc doesnt allow it. It claims that I have the wrong path chosen or sth. Help?
And yes, my os is vista...
For some reason, this happens to my soldiers whenever I try to play SS 6.0 / SS 6.1.
I first suspected it was a graphical error (such as overheating) but when I play vanilla M2, or any other game, I have no problems. Then I attributed the error to Crimson Tide, but to confirm this, I reinstalled SS 6.0 w/o installing CT and still got the same problems. Does anyone know what's going on? I have the latest drivers for my video card (specs in sig) and I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium.

Working perfectly
ty guys
go to SS/data/unit_models/ and paste this file over the battlemodels.modeldb
that should solve your problem

I was getting a crash every time I entered battle in the Scottish area with Rebels. I was mystified but finally something consistent began to show up. Every time the Rebel force included border horse, and the log was loading textures right before it crashed. And it was having a hard time finding EN_peasant_padded_rebelb, as ordered by the fix proposed in this thread, for the very simple reason that EN_peasant_padded_rebelb does not exist. I changed a copy of EN_peasant_padded_rebels to EN_peasant_padded_rebelb for test purposes and the crash stopped (but as expected the soldiers had horrible faces).
So where oh where can we find EN_peasant_padded_rebelb, which fixes ugly faces for rebel border horses?
