    Default SS 6.0/6.1 and MedManager

I'd like to know how to make the mod run with the MedMenager as i don't want the mod to overwrite the original MTWII game and don't like the idea of doing an extra copy of MTWII which is really big.

The mod is installed in a subfolder called mods. The core game is still there as installed, as far as I know that is.

I know about the sub folder you say but trying to install to it zipped instead of in 3 different files (Part1,Part2,Patch 6.1) I saw that it creates a folder called data which would go to overwrite the MTWII one and don't know if the files inside would overwrite the vanilla ones.
    Could you check?Thx in advance.

SS installes a folder called data, in its own folder that the game reads instead of the one in the vanilla medieval folder.
As far as i know it should right nothing to the sega/medieval2/data folder.

I would make a copy of the medieva2/data folder and install SS and compare. Never bothered to do this myself and have never checked to see if vanilla is still playable in a year....

I know that. But I noticed that it creates 2 folders and 1 exe : mods, data, uninstal.
In the mods folder there is the mods files ect but in the data one ,which overwrite the MTWII one, there are files. I don't want that to interfere with the vanilla and other mods.

It shouldn't effect any other mod. I've had DLV, Kingdoms Grand Campaign, Broken Cresent and SS all installed on top of the same Medieval install and never had a problem.

Sorry to say so, but SS affects all mods designed for medieval II, as it does with vanilla game itself. For more info, please look at the thread:

This confirm what i feared and saw. KK should fix this. It's absurd to have multiple MTWII games to play different mods. Some mods installs only in its own folder..:hmmm:

:hmmm: I didn't realize this. Again you know what files are installed with 6.0 in the root of medieval data folder? If so back them up, then delete play your other mod then paste them back in when you want to play SS. I'm sure KK would only do this if he had no other choice or he made a mistake. I hadn't noticed with earlier versions of SS, maybe its only in 6.0 install?

Well, I didn't play earlier versions of SS, so I can not provide you with any info about. List of files inserted into /medieval2_root/data/ is attached in thread I liked above. You should notice, that this list was checked for SS 6.0. I don't know if any other file is stored there by version 6.1 .

That happen both for 6.0 and 6.1
I think KK has forgotten something or hasn't realized this. I hope he will correct this, especially because if you need more than 1 mod it could be boring and upsetting each time to copy and paste files..
