    Default low settings vs extreme

i gotz a HD2600XT card. P4 w/HT@4.0Ghz, 2gig of DDR8500 ram, winXP pro, and not a single background program running. literally. my gaming system has no antivirus/firewall/antispyware.

ANYWAYS, i've been playing BC for a few days and im in turn 83ish. the mongols just invaded and so since i knew i was gonna be fighting larger armies, i turned the video settings to lowest.
    WTF?!
the graphics in lowest suck. they are horrible. they are worse than horrible!
so then i turned them back up to high and they were nice again.
i would just like to point out that BC does an incredible job at differentiating the different video settings. on extreme everything looks almost realistic. but on lowest everything is crap. this rocks cuz my comp. cant handle +2000 units on extreme, so its nice to be able to throttle down to low and have still a enjoyable xperience (no lag; descent framerates)

    LONG LIVE BROKEN CRESCENT!!!

Yay for us, but if I was sporting my old dusty comp I'd be shaking my fist at you right now.

    *shakes fist*

If I play on all low settings I can get an 8 fps on desert battles. Usually 5 for everything else, 3 for city battles.

On medium settings I'm at 2-3 across the board.

It feels good to have 10 000 units onscreen at once with no slowdown (on highest)...

    how would u accomplish this?
i upgraded to a 9800GTX, and i can have around 2500 units on high, but anything more and the framerate drops. im gonna get a core2duo E8400 soon so maybe that will help.
im installin xp 64bit as we speak, so that will let me put in more memory
but do u ppl think that will be enough? what do u think of the following setup:
    E8400 c2d processor OC'ed to 4Ghz, 9800GTX, 4gigs PC8500 ram, and xp64bit?

    thnx.

I'm always scared to put my graphics up....for some reason, I get a blue-screen crash almost every single time I play on high settings.

Sadly, its medium for me at best.
