HELP ME to find a good faction

hello

i would like to hear your opinion.
i don't know which faction to play since it s been a long time i did not play BC.
i played a lot with abbassids and liked it but it was kinda easy even VH VH.
i m looking for :

- a Muslim faction
- not to far from india
- a faction which is gonna fight mongol horde (and also has a chance to defeat them)
- good economic opportunities
- best troops as possible (flexability and quality)

Perhaps try the Ghaznivids? Good spearmen (i prefer using spearmen) and respectable cav. You also have dual-archers. You can get in early to fight the mongols and can earn heaps if you descend upon the Rajputs.

Khurasani Heavy Spearmen are so pretty.

Sindh might work. You'll have to really push, but the Mongols should be powerful by the time you get into conflict with them. Though Ghaznivids are a better choice...but their starting location is less secure.

If you can't field spearmen for your needs, don't use them!

Set up a "Ghorid Kamikaze National Heroes' Benefit's Fund," take your pick of the most enthusiastic and cheapest troops, invite them over to your palace for a lavish dinner with the Ghorid Shah himself.

Then march them in first place in your army, dress them up nice and fine with ceremonial headbands, and tell them to look pretty...



Shed a tear or two, but war is war! Exact your all-consuming vengeance on the offending cavalry, florin for florin, with wicked armor-piercing units (Ghazi Heavy Axemen! Cheeeep!)

Swamp them. Your lack of spearmen is made up by the massive number of infantry you can recruit. Don't be afraid to bring 2-3 stacks to fight one enemy stack as the Ghorids.

As the Ghorids you can hire plenty of mercenary spearmen in India....their quality leaves something to be desired but in sufficient numbers and with tactical support they function just fine.

I agree with Heinz though, the Ghaznavids are perfect for you. To fight the Mongols I would suggest either Khwarezm or Ghazni, but Ghazni has much better in-roads to India like you've requested.

Oh, and Ghulam Infantry are beautiful.

Not with Ghorids. If I recall, Ghorid Ghazi units have lock_morale, so they are unroutable. I could be wrong though.

A good counter tatic would be using elephants or you own heavy cavalry. Kwarzeum have a good cavalry roster and are the first to suffer the Mongols.

Ghorids would be my choice. There unit roster is pretty well balanced. Well i am off to enjoy my birthday.

Heehee, not such great shots but oh well.

The key to battles is timing - are you engaging other units 8 seconds after impact, or are they so far away it will take 25 or 30 seconds? One unit routing will not have too much of an impact on the rest of a fresh army, but it can break an army that already saw combat and took losses. It may be sort of cheating in a sense, as the Ghorids are balanced to be vulnerable to cavalry charges, but you can very well do without spearmen. Spearmen just take a LOT fewer losses, and your suicide role "brave vanguard" units will nearly be wiped out. Replacements recommended with every usage.

Ghords aren't neccisarily fodder. I always fought outnumbered as them and they can really hold their own, but I haven't had much experience with other factions so they might be even stronger and I was just good at using fodder troops. >.>
