    Default Remove BYGIII from 6.1 installer

    Many people including myself can not get the BYGIII mod working properly when installed with the 6.1 installer. I have talked with BYG and he recommended that I uninstall the BYGIII mod as he does not know what is wrong. I do not want anyone else playing a 110 turn game to only find out it is bugged.

    What happens is that you can not recruit upper level units just mainly militia/peasants and the like no matter what you do. I as many others have read the instructions over and over and have zeal, religion and war council king etc... at the proper levels but the units are always grayed out even after 110 turns.

    This mod needs to be removed from the installer so others do not waste their time.

    I'm tempted to try installing it seperately because i like the idea. But yeah 90-100 turns in realizing "its just not going to let me" was rather disheartening.

    I have the same problem about recruitment but I only installed Real Recruitment mod, not BYGIII mod. I installed all over again, hoping to go on with my saved game but seems to keep the same problem, there is any way to fix it always being able to play a saved game of 6.1?

    Reinstalling does not appear to help - I suffered the same problem.

    A shame, as I applaud the idea and the effort that went in to BYG's work

    Elite unit pools not filling despite having a war council member(king even) inside the castle, faction zeal high, and 75%+ religion.

    I mean no disrespect to BYG or his mod. On the contrary I like the idea so much I spent the entire day trying to make it work. I have installed it every way I could think of and tinkered with the files to no end to get it to work. Each time uninstalling and running registry clean and reinstalling the entire game or just SS.

    I think BYG made the perfect mod but I just can not get it to work right and now that I got a taste of the mod I do not want to play without it. Heck, I played 110 turns without any elite or feudal units but was having so much fun I did not want to stop, lol.

    Ah so that's why I wasn't able to recruit any Gothic Knights while playing as HRE, but now playing as the Teutonic Knights I'm able to recruit Ritterbruder.

    It wasn't until I saw this thread that I thought I had a perfect install. I am too having this problem, and was a little disappointed that I was missing out on this charm. I hope BYG can get a fix out because I love this mod

    can all of you check if u also have RR installed


    Heavy Mail: available whenever an Armourer is built. This will typically be late in the Early Era and is approximately the correct timeframe.
    Partial Plate/Mail: Early-Mid High Era, about 1275
    Full Plate: Late Era, about 1380
    Gothic Plate: Mid Late Era, about 1450
    Handgun: about 1310
    Arquebus: about 1466, Spanish Arquebus about 1444
    Musket: about 1502
    Pikes, Polearms, Heavy Crossbows: about 1310

    this is taken from the RR thread, I also thought i had a similar problem until i read this :S

    I have RR enabled. I guess it works fine for me because all of the Teutonic units wear chain mail.

    I currently have a fresh SS patched to 6.1 with only BYGIII. I have the problem and I am working on the files to try to figure out what is wrong.

    DFK use heavy mail no? Regardless I played through 1308 before figuring out it wasnt ever happening. Even got the event(and the ability to recruit swordstaff. so rr was working fine).

    *shrug* the dismounted huscarls they replaced also had not been refilling.

    Maybe its just an issue with combining rr and byg.

    I installed just BYGIII and BYGIII with RR. It did not matter as the bug is with any BYGIII 6.1 installation.

    I can give you a small hint, as i don't have the ability to do it right now (pc with med installed not home atm -.-).
    Install 6.0, take my fixpack and install the no byg option, install bgr3 on it, check if the bug is there.

    Im sure he will find a way to get it to work.

    But on a side note I would recommend removing that option from the 6.1 patch.
