    Default Future of SS (v 7.0?)

    Hi,

    First off, I don't know KK's official position on this but I'd like to hear what you guys think.

    For me SS 6.0 is almost as good as it gets. I mean there are some small issues (bugs and morale issues) but these will inevitably be ironed out in patches to come. Indeed, 6.1 has addressed some of these problems already. We have reached the faction limit, the province limit, the map size limit, the unit limit and God knows how many other limits. I, for one, just don't see how SS can improve enough to warrant a new version (SS7.0), rather than another patch.

    Do you guys see a SS 7.0 in the making, and, if so, what do you expect/want in said version?

    You could redo many of the old factions: streamline their rooster, new skins ect.
    In my opinion there are still too many redundant units, also i don´t like some skins (also new ones like the byzantine)

    Indeed, factions like Novgorod do not even have any new units, or skins.

    Novgorod has new skins by Disgruntled Goat which are much better than the vanilla ones. True, they have no new units but I'm working on that

    i think one major improvement would be to have proper unit rosters for factions removing those unwanted units. for example we all know that england have 4 types of billmen which they dont need. getting rid of two of these would be a start.

    i dont think that there will be another version for SS.
    this version looks final in my eyes, like you said he reached all limits and just some bugfixing need to be done.
    empire:tw is comming soon, too.
    kk can take a break from all that hard work

    As stated above, new units/skins and a consolidation of redundant units would be an excellent way to really increase the overall experience of the mod. More unique units per faction would be great.

    Also, an AOR system of some type, even a fairly basic one, would do much to add a greater sense of realism to SS.

    A slight map extension further north would be good for the Norweigan, Danish and Russian campaigns (yes, I know it was extended, but no harm in pushing it up a few more pixels).

    And of course merging the Templars and KOJ and ditching Ireland for two new factions... Lots of options on what to add, though I favor either Abbassids and Serbia/Bulgaria, or Abbassids and Georgia.

    Amen to that! I would also like to see new faces for the Teutonic Order. I love the skins but the faces are bad. Their skintone is to red and the faces look ugly.

    Currently playing as the Kingdom of France on VH/VH.

    It would be great, but there are some issues to be solved on 6.1 IMO. New skins and the few bugs will do the trick!

    especially since there is only desert in the south. You could remove the southern parts of the map up to luxor.

    Yes, SS on the Empire: TW engine would be excellent, especially with the new AI.

    However, I read something on Totalwar.com where CA said that writing a BattleAI for the medieval period was 'relatively simple', it just involved them lining up 2 armies and banging them together. Hmm, if its so simple then, why couldn't they even get that right?

    Are they serious? Have they even read any history??

    Hopefully the AI for ETW will be tons better because they now have Lusted working for them

    Oh yes, they were serious. For that reason, and throwing in the added complexities of ranged combat and lines, columns, squares etc, I think some apprehension is in order :hmmm:But no worry, Napoleonic era warfare just involved 2 armies lining up and shooting each other, right?

    Don't forget the ubiquitous "walk slowly towards the enemy army that's bristling with guns" tactics

    well SS6 is as good as it gets and it is what M2tw should have been if you ask me. It can be improved but i don't see many major improvements.

    I think King Kong deserves a rest and to play his own game for now. If he will mod in the future other than the patches i wouldn't be surprised if he waits till empires and mods that game.

    I agree.

    I don't understand, SS 6.0 has just been released, it's still fresh, it has infinite possibilities on the new big map, new factions, new skins, new traits, etc. brilliant sub-mods, what more do you want?
