For TIC, I suggest that you got to the "Rome - Total War" directory and right-click on the Rome TW-BI.exe icon and then "Send to/Desktop (create shortcut)". That will place a shortcut icon on your desktop.

Then go to your desktop and right click on the new icon named "Shortcut to Rome TW-BI. In the Target field you will see the path (something like "D:\Games\Rome\RTR TIC 1.1\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe").

At the end of this line add the switches -show_err -mod:TIC. Once you've done you'll have an icon that will just start TIC from that installation of RTW. Then you can rename the icon if you wish (to avoid confusion - lol).

With Platinum, it depends on which type of install of the mod you've used - the full, or the mod-switch versions. But the process is pretty similar to the above. Try sorting TIC out first, and then we can look at Platinum.

If you have TIC successfully installed, it should not affect your original RTW game as it installs itself in its own subfolder (called TIC) in your Rome - Total War directory, and it even creates its own icon to start it.

As TIC does not affect the original game, you will still be able to play vanilla RTW, as it leaves the original start icon untouched as well.

If you are using the mod-switch version of RTR-Platinum mod, then it too will install itself in its own subfolder (RTRPE) in the same fashion as TIC, and create its own icon.

In this fashion, you will have one installation of RTW, with which you will be able to play vanilla, RTR-PE and RTR VII-TIC - three games for the price of one - so to speak!
