When will the friggin' Mongols come?

It is 1207 and the Kwars are beasts in my game. I'm wrapping up the conquest of India, where the majority of my armies are, but they are really biting my ass back in the west. Stack after stack just seiging the crap out of my cities. When are the Mongols going to come and help me out? I've only got three undefended cities left with the Raj, but my armies would barely make it in time even if they started pulling out now!

For some reason I just pictured Kevin Costner playing the part of the Khwarezm leader and Shoeless Joe Jackson as Genghis Khan... "if you execute the emissary, they will come." Field of Dreams ftw.

Gaaaah. I'm going to have to just bulk my cities up and use my newly come of age General to go on a Kwara ass kicking spree. With about 4 stacks rolling in each turn I think he'll only manage to keep them at bay and not repel them completely, but he'll probably be a scarred up badass by the end of it with 8 stars if he doesn't die first.

Sounds like fun! Oh, and I've some of the best battles ever in India. I missed elephants so much in M2TW. They add just a third dimension to the battles. There was hordes of rampaging elephants all over the place, Ghazis slugging it out with massive waves of punjabis and Ghulams cutting through thousands of archers like butter. I liked how the Raj weren't really interested in hiding inside their cities. I fought almost every battle against them on the field because they'd just throw stack after stack at me. Heroic victories everywhere.

I really appreciate all the work put into this mod, guys. Having more fun with it than any other mod I've played lately. It kind of reminds me of the SPQR mod, the way I run into so many multi-stack battles.

do u ever use forts to block strategic passes, thats one way of buying time. I used it a lot when my Abbasids were near bankruptcy for a period of 20-25 years, I didn't have the money to engage in a stack-fest, so I used forts and blocked up a crucial area the Mongols would have passed through. It worked! I managed to hold them off for so long!

Did the "Mongol Emissaries Killed" historic notification popup?

Nope. If they ever do come, I have a question. Are they like Vanilla in their target picking? I mean, sometimes if I was too close to the middle east, or Russia they would skip the Russians and the Turks or whoever to attack me first. I tried not to take many provices to the west of Kabul, but will they a-historically spread East on me?

Do you have patch 1.05 installed? If you're not getting that historic notification then mongols won't come at all.

Yeah, patched to 1.05. Is there anything I can check in game to see if it was properly patched or not? If so, I can check. any chance I just have to do a couple more turns?

Have you seen other historic events like "Richard of England coronated" or "Maimonides" and the like? If you're not getting historic events like those then something's wrong with your BC 1.05. Just post descr_events.txt from imperial campaign here and I can check right away if you're patched properly.

Well, that doesn't make any sense. I just installed the 1.05 patch again and everything looks the same. The startup screen says 1.05. Also, I noticed some of the 1.05 changes. I think I had the patch installed in the first place, just my events file was messed up.

Well, I did just reinstall the 1.05 patch, but my game was patched before that and I could load my campaign save. Bad thing is, it was 1221, so I couldn't see if anything happened.

Im going to have to abandon this one and come back to it in 2.0 or something, after long forgetting about those ridiculously cool black clad Ghazis.

I'll have to start looking for a new faction to play, and the moment a historical event doesn't pop up, I'm quitting and going to find out what the damn problem is.

Just did a new campaign and ran through to 1180 and didn't get any historical events. *Siiiiiiiigh.*

My shortcut doesn't have anything after the destination path. Does that mean anything? No code for 'file first' etc.
