Destruction of Norway...?

How did this happen in my campaign as the Danes? Conditions:

Allied with them, we both had good relations. Only war was with Scotland. They had the entire northern provinces and parts of the Eastern Russian/Finnish territory. I'm assuming that they lost ALL of their family members in one battle...yet one of their family members (or maybe it was a general -- ?) was stuck on one of my islands with higher loyalty. So how did they self-destruct?!??!? Anyone else had this? Unless I'm lucky, I really hope this doesn't happen too often...

lets seem some screenshots to shed some light on this situation. Are you sure the heir didn't die of old age or it could be a bug!

What turn is this? Norway has been destroyed each time its capital is taken in my game, so that may be it. I don't know if the faction leader and heir are both in the capital or what, but they get killed by England/Scotland really fast.

Their settlements may have revolted, seems to happen a lot.

Norway is the first to be destroyed in both of my 6.0 games so far. Around turn 20 both times.

this happens to me all the time in the late era campaign, with differnt factions . Norway always seems to just dissapear even when they don't lose any settlements. The problem seems to be that they lose their faction heirs quickly, then the king eventually dies of old age w/o heirs

I had a lot of issues with rebels. The AI for some reason had lots of revolts and many nations keep getting destroyed.

I saw someplace where A guy changed the happiness value of walls. So I increased the happiness value of walls by 2 for each level and everything seems to work fine now. AI seems to do a lot better and Norway lives on...

norway was the first faction to be eliminated in my campaign, as well.

HRE in my game ran out of family members first in my game, even though they were only at war with genoa and lost only one province.

I had this happen with England once when I was playing as Scotland. They should have had a province left but when I took their second last settlement, I don't recall the names but they were the two southern ones, the remaining one instantly turned rebel and I got the faction destroyed message.

I bet what happened was that the last of the generals ether starved to death or died...

And this second one will hopefully explain the unit-general situation. I don't see why the faction was destroyed, considering this guy was still alive and 'trapped' on my island. Perhaps he ended up being rebel...but perhaps there is something wrong, since norway seems to be destroying themselves often it seems...

The scots did invade, but I highly doubt they could have killed them so quickly...unless ALL the family members were in one city...and the 'general-unit' was just a 'general,' and not a family member...although I doubt that too, because they took that 'rebel' settlement you see in the map just a turn prior. The only reason why its grey and not red is because my watchtowers can view that particular area. He took that settlement with a 'genera' / 'family member' ... and I'm pretty sure he was still there when the scots invaded.

the scots have got a habit of invading norway so it was probably them that killed the faction heir and leader. i thin the way it goes is if the heir and the leader are destroyed then the faction is destroyed! thats probably norways problem.

Remember this happend to HRE a time or two, in 5.1 I belive. Just got destroyed, leaving a load of rebel provinces behind. No logical reason.

I was playing SS 6.0 for 40 rounds with Poland, and by that time Lithuania, Scots, Portugal and crown of aragorn were "destroyed" in 5 round time. Their all cities rebelled, that's funny to see cuz it does sucks and it happen to often

I have noticed the rebelling cities occurring way to often. Has anyone figured out how to reduce that?
