Editing Character Names

Not sure what you're saying. Do those two characters have the same in-game name? Can you post the relevant descr_strat excerpt?

The problem is with

relative Marce Tarquin, Thanaquil, Caile Tarquin, Aranth Tarquin, Aule Tarquin, end

The children must be listed in order by age starting from the eldest, you have the youngest listed first. The error should have pointed to the exact line it was on. Also if asking for help with an error its easier for us to help if you provide the exact message that you received as opposed to however you remember it.

Hello Aradan,

Your guides are, as usual, excellent as I have used both the EDU guide and the Names guide to help me with my modding work.

I realize you must get many of these requests, but I hope (if you had the time) you would be able to look into a thread I just created regarding a mystery names-related-CTD I am getting. All potential errors that I know of regarding names I have checked & rechecked, yet the problem persists.

could I add specific names to slave faction?

and could slave have named characters? except which are in descr_strat at the start of game?

You can, but what's the point? Slave characters have a subfaction, and they get their names from that list.

I can do slave as shadowing faction, but with different names as their shadowed faction.

Ah yes, I forgot. Anyway, yes, you can have separate names for the faction, just create a "slave" list in descr_names and add the relevant entries in text/names.

just one question: is possible situation that any character or settlement of shadowing faction will rebel from this shadowing faction and become slave?

You mean sth like Roman --> Roman Rebel --> Rebel?

Yes, it's possible, if the Romans are shadowed by Roman Rebels, and Roman Rebels are shadowed by slave. Though this is quite off-topic in this thread.
