    Default Heir?

Heir Presumptive trait states that he will become faction leader IF the current leader does not produce an heir of royal blood. Although my first-born royal son has now officially come of age, my faction heir is still my adopted heir presumptive.

What then is the use for the Biological son traits and the apparent/presumptive distinction?

They're pretty much just there to remind you how terrible the hardcoded unmoddable infallible heir selection system is.

ye need to change the description:
this man will be empowered regent in the event he does not die before your current leader gives his last breath

The game engine won't allow heirs to switch even if a rightful one comes of age. The only solution would be to kill off the 'Heir Presumptive' and your biological heir should become the prince.

"Should" being the operative word there

Exactly. I don't even know the number of generals I had in my previous campaigns. Maybe if I killed all my generals the true heir would come to power...

maybe killing of the royal dynasty so you would have a new one with the next king? its usually less generals to kill...
This isn't right, this isn't even wrong. This isn't anything!

Hmm, I was just wondering, could Medieval 2 be modded so the general with the highest command gets to be the heir?

    It's hardcoded, so nope.

I just thought there was some workaround impelemented by KK through the biological traits, etc, but apparently they're just aesthetic in function.
