Crash after battle

Hey,
Im currently experiencing a crash to desktop (black screen, no message, just the eggtimer spinning round) after i win a battle and close the final stat box. Its currently when im defending Jerusalem agaisnt a Timurid jihad as the English in the long campaign.

This has happened once before agaisnt the Milanese but when i reloaded the milanese decided to lift the seige so i didnt have to fight them again.

Im currently using an Acer Aspire 5684WLMi, the stats are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T56600 1.83GHz
NVIDIA GeForce G0 7600 express 128MB VRAM
2GB DDR2 Ram
OS: XP Media Centre

Ive downloaded all the patches but im not sure if theyre installed properly. It says its updated on the options screen but none of the features seem to b, for example greying out the portraits of dead princesses on the family tree. Im no expert but this may be because MTW is installed to my second hard drive instead of the main primary default one, which didnt have enough space. I dont know though.

Any help would be very grateful, I dont want to have to auto match and lose Jerusalem!!! I only have a few turns till Im out of time!

M2TW minimum specs are 256MB for the video card and laptops overheat easily and will cause the game to crash.

I have recently had the air vents cleaned out and i have the laptop elevated to prevent overheating, besides when my laptop overheats it doesnt crash to desktop it just instantly turns off.

I play the game on full specs fine with my graphics card, and the fact it only crashes in this specific instance, once ive won the battle, would seem to suggest its something else?

I am basing my answer on the technical data of the game and my own personal experience. And that experience is I played RTW on a laptop and installed lots of different drivers to get the game to work beyond 1 hour. My computer played the game fine at first, then it would crash later on. I knew my card sucked, so I tried drivers (me as a noob) as the only possible solution.
