    Default Question about Modder tools

    Hey guys,

I'm really interested in getting into modding, I troll these forums all day just about Couple questions... what tools do you use? and for what purpose?

Things i'm looking to gain from this thread:

Which programs can (or do you use) to edit the textures of the game, such as skins, models ect, the whole graphical shabang so to speak

Do you just use notepad to edit the text files, what about EDU ect?

Anything i missed that i should know about?

Does this kilt make my Scottish Highlander look fat? (oh wait disregard that question)

    Thanks in advance guys!

p.s. if this question shouldnt be in this forum my apologies but this just seemed like the place to ask (as i'm only concerned with helping mod SS6 and not any other mod/mods)

For EDU I use notepad++ (or you cn use ultraedit) for fast modifications. For massive modifications I've done my own program that massively replaces unit sizes...

For texture editing, I use Photoshop CS2. For model editing I use Milkshape 3D. For text editing I use Notepad2

I find the files compare tool absolutly neccessary.
It lets you compare 2 files or 2 directories whatever is needed and is essential for version control.
Also it makes you for example see in one glance the differences in the edu files of 2 minimods and lets you copy over changes with simple mouse clicks.
