Reinstalling issues

I've had this issue for a while now, and have just now gotten around to addressing it. The issue is, basically, I can't install Medieval 2:Total War. It all started when about last year I tried to uninstall it from my add and remove programs menu, it gave me a error message, than the picture of it was removed. I thought this meant it was uninstall ed, because i hadn't taken the time to read the error message. Well, earlier today I tried to reinstall it, only to have it telling me that I have a later patch version already installed. What I tried to do to fix it was look through my whole computer and delete all the left over files, which still did nothing. I'm not sure if I have left over registry keys, and if I do, I'm not sure how to clean those...so what do I do?

Never mind this post, I followed a guide to manually delete it off my system, and it worked.
