    Default Medieval movies

So, I know that this is not related to Stainless Steel in any particular way, but as I am a huge fan of medieval movies, I would like for you to list the movies right here, in this topic. For example, I will start this thing off...

    Kingdom of Heaven

Short Plot: Balian of Ibelin travels to Jerusalem during the crusades of the 12th century, and there he finds himself as the defender of the city and its people.

    IMDb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0320661/

I guess pretty much all of you viewed this film(some of us quite a handful of times), but in case that you have not viewed this movie, and you love playing Medieval 2 Total War, I wholeheartedly recommend this move.

As a side note, the movies don't have to be released yet, you can preview a movie, post some links about etc.; and as far as I'm concerned the movie doesn't always have to have battles, as long as it is in medieval time. And don't post any spoilers.

    El Cid

    Short Plot
Epic film of the legendary Spanish hero, Rodrigo Diaz ("El Cid" to his followers), who, without compromising his strict sense of honour, still succeeds in taking the initiative and driving the Moors from Spain

they need to make MORE medieval movies

Some kids like to pee there names on the snow in winter... Chuck Norris can pee his name into solid concrete!

Chuck Norris doesn't have to shape his hair... It stays in shape out of sheer fear.

A snake once bit Chuck. After five days of extreme pain... The snake died.

BraveHeart is one of my favorites. And yes they do need to make more movies based on the medieval ages.

Excalibur. I believe this movie single handedly is responsible for my love of medieval warfare, armor, knights, swords, etc. Before there were vcr's and dvd players, you have to catch movies whenver they came on HBO. I must have watched this movie 100 times when I was a kid. I still love it!

If you want to watch Kingdom of Heaven, try to get the Director's Cut. The movie is about twice as long as the original, and adds a lot of background stuff for the main characters. It's a lot better.

The "Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc" with Mila Jovovich was pretty nice. I also love those old movies set in medieval england. There were just tons of it on TCM (or so i remember). Anyone wants to remind me some titles ?

I agree with Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc. It was a really good movie in my opinion.

I can't believe Monty Python and the Holy Grail hasn't been mentioned yet! (oops it has been mentioned but i guess another vote for this great movie)
On a serious note though, if you are interested in the battlefields of Japan during its Sengoku period, check out Akira Kurosawa's Ran.It's a great adaptation of King Lear and the cavalry charges and the battle sequence in general are so awesome that I suspect horses and people were actually injured during filming.

Just curious, why? Is the Rain Man himself on this forum?

On topic; If you liked Monty Python and the Holy Grail, make sure you don't miss Jabberwocky ^_^

Like i have said before, Kingdom of Heaven would have been fantastic if they hadn't cast that tard Orlando Bloom in the lead role. He single handedly changed it from being a ruddy brilliant film to being distinctly average for me.
