OMG the Rebels are beseiging my capital!

As you may or may not be able to decipher the nature of my problem from the title But anyway a big group of rebels have besieged my capital city(which is being guarded by 1 unit of militia spearmen)has anyone else experienced this?

Oh yeah if i knew how to post a pic i would but i am technophobic and don't haven't a clue how to do it

You hit the "prt scr" button to the right of F12. But why would you leave your capital defended only by one unit of spear militia?

I have seen rebels besiege a city once, it was vanilla ver 1.0 my first camp as the HRE, I was just playing when suddenly a half stack of rebels began sieging Nuremberg( wich had about 4 units as garison) and I was surprised because I hadn't seen it in RTW, but it was the only time I saw it, too bad .

Your capital should have at least 3 free upkeep slots. You should take advantage of that. At least gives you more of a chance in such events.

I had a rebel army (without a general too) besieging Medina which is a city all the way south in fatimid starter territory. They were standing still near my city a few turns so I went past it with my army thinking oh I'll deal with em later they don't do anything but restrict some tiny amount of trade anyway. But then they besieged my city lol.

I made screenshots of it, they must be somewhere buried on my hd, or I deleted them but that is pretty unlikely. If it is important or something tell me and i'll try to find them.

happend quite often to me. First time was when I played on VH for the first time
like 10-15 times or so alltogether.
and its not that i play every hour of the day

i have never seen it outside of the anno dominni mod which had scripted rebel stacks that atacked your settlements. I always liked that feature since it added another threat to the game.

Ive been besieged by rebels more then a couple times. I usually play on H/H.

I only saw it while playing DLV. By the way it is a guesswork as to how we shold pick our answers when responding to thepoll
