Removing the banners in battle

Anyone know where the preferences file is hiding inside the mod, as i cant seem to find it under the normal preferences folder.

is there a seperate place it is being held. Or is it under a different name?

Any advice would be welcome as im trying to get rid of the huge banners on the battle map as they are abit gaudy

open your bc.cfg with notepad

do a search for show_banners

change show_banners = 1 to show_banners = 0

start a new game

Thank you, and does anyone know where i can mod the unit stats. Because when i go to BC Data and Descre_unit i change the stats, but nothing changes in game.

... Why would you want the pretty, pretty, oh-so-pretty BC banners removed?

An oft-asked but oft-repeated reason - it can clutter your field of view, at the least for cinematics. Though AlphaDelta did an awesome job at making beautiful banners that look good even when they can be cluttersome. Imagine twenty units all crowded in the gateway of a settlement facing against another twenty - it's like the skyline of a booming Chinese city.

You can decrease the size of banners in the "descr_banners_new.xml" in the data folder, in the file, at the beginning you can see a bit that says "General Scale" change the number that follows to 0.5 or 0.4, or even 0.3 for more realistic banner scales.

Thank you for the tip. I decreased the size to 0.5 and the game looks much better now, I was afraid it affected also the mini banners but it does not
