I think that the hospitallers deserve more credit and so far in Stainless steel they are majorly forgotten. I personally think the deserve to be a faction but i have no idea how to make mods so its not up to me
but the Hospitallers need more focus

Shouldn't this be in the Stainless Steel subforum?
And you always could learn to mod to your liking...we all had to start somewhere.

The faction limit has been reached in SS.
Wrong forum by a mile..Moved to SS.
When I play as Sicily, I may as be playing as the Hospitalars as they make up 50% of my armies. The units are quite good IMO.
This idea has been suggested many times in the past. And the question really comes down to did the Hospitaliers do anything that would qualify them to be a faction unto themselves? I'm not as clear about their history as I am the Templars and the Teutonic Order, but did they actually own large tracts of land like the Templars? Were they able to operate (largely) independently like the Teutonic Order?
But like someone has already stated, the faction limit has already been reached so you wouldn't be able to add the Hospitaliers in without taking another faction out first.
Actually if i remembered correctly what my college history professor said , the Hospitaliers were as rich as templars (they had massive Mediterranean trade fleets and they had lots of island estates like Cyprus and Rhodes ? ) but much humble in terms of manner to other nations (deus less famous ? since they never tried anything against another nation that will lead to their downfall ) , and they even had the money to buy of the Malta island from the Italians back then and made it their HQ XD
And arent Todays ST john (the medic organizations) the Modern day version of Hospitaliers minus the swords ?? XD in terms of influence i think they have more than templars as a general view of still existing XD

Actually Malta was a grant from Charles V.
The unit limit may have been reached. The answer to your other point is the Morea, Smyrna, Rhodes, and Malta. The latter two were the locale for two famous sieges conducted by the Ottomans. Smyrna was sacked by Timur-i-leng ( which means thoroughly). I think the KOSJ leased the Morea from one of the Frankish lords. So your answer is yes. Trivia the order still exists.
You think the Hospitallers as a faction are more needed than Aragon or Kiev?:hmmm:
Well, I don't agree and while I personally like Ireland they don't have much impact on gameplay and that's what I see as important.
But since there are other discussions about new factions I think there's no chance for the Hospitallers being implemented as a faction... and besides, they'd have nothing special to offer, or am I wrong? Just another faction featuring knights and some other Sergeant units or so.
So I don't really see the sense of you poll and guess that the best way would be if you just try to do it yourself and release it as a mini-mod for SS.
On a side not, can anyone tell me which files I need to change provinces and such for factions?
I AGREE! Make em there own faction it would be awsome. like an early only tho kinda like templars and yes Clivus look at this:

@Meister Sibrand
look at the date, it's far too late to have any influence on 1080 and 1220 starting dates we have for EE and LE.
Find something much earlier and see if there's anything useful or not.
my other horse is a space ship
They owned Rhodes and Malta at various points, but I don't think they ever had the influence of the Templars or Teutonic Order.
However gallant , they were bit players in the greater scheme of things. So thumbs down I'm afraid.
they actually lasted along time much longer than any other order till the
1700's i believe. they owned alot of islands and were huge in trading and very succesfull warriors, they would actually be better than the templars in my opinion
