Hello.
This mod works when i use about 5 units in a battle (tried this on campaign map and custom battle) but when alot of units are in a stack, the game crashes mid loading the battle with an "unexpected error" message.
Any idea why its giving me that?

EDIT;
Large setting worked with 2000 v 2000 peasents with low graphics settings, but anything higher for graphics and i get the crash. I guess medieval decides that my computer can and can not cope with. Its a shame since i would of enjoyed the game much better with this mod.

Ok I have a problem..
I have used every single of those EDU_61_XXXXXXX_BIGBATTLES.zip EDU's but all of them cause a CTD when I start the game. It doesn't even show the slashscreens...could someone help me with this?
Mods that I'm using are: Real Recruitment 1.2 / Real Combat 1.7 beta, Total Combat 1.2, SS6 New warhorns beta, RAJ and Crimson Tide 4.2

Hey, ive scanned through this thread, is this file related at all to how fast units become exhausted? With the increased unit sizes the battles beautifully go on for a long time and with extra men to be killed the units get exhausted whilst engaging their first opposing units?
Brilliant mod though, ive just come onto stainless steal from playing third age and thera, its good to get back to real history again!

Ok, now in BETA you can test the HUGER battles. Let me know any bug or strange number you may find!
BTW, I wanna add some pics from huger or bigger battles, any contribution is welcome! I'll post them in the 1st post.

Well, IMO a user normally plays battles 1 army vs 1 army (90% of the time). What this mod tries is to make that battles massive...
In my computer when an extra army joins the result is that the battle goes slow and the animations are not fluent, but well, the performance goes better when men number's decreases (obviously).
So, I encourage u to use the mod as you'll experience awesome battles and when a huge amount of armies are together, you can automate the result and cross the fingers![]()

I like the sound of this project but my computer struggles to run large-unit battles as it is, I'll definitely be checking it out when I get my new graphics card though!
ignasigh, can u please help me becasue i don't know which of this zip file to use when i want to apply bigger or huger battle
i have installed only SS 6.1 with RR and RC + permanent arrows and i'm playing for TO, late era.
i want to use bigger (or huger) battles and morale. which of the zip files should i use?

Interesting mod. I've just tried the 'huge' version. five thousands soldiers on each side ( 5000 vs 5000 ).
Game truly looks epic...and also epic in terms of fps dropped below 10
( i have Q9550 OCed 3.4 / 8GB RAM / Geforce 280 )
Even crysis all very high option never got me below 30 fps but this mod set a record
I am still wondering if theres anyone who got the stable fps in the modded 25000 vs 25000
rome total war custom battle.
so i tried the last version of RR and RC (download and install it) with the latest export_descr_unit.txt where in the header of the file is written -> ; SS v6.1 with RR 1.2, RC 1.7 and SSTC. the game started OK, but when i have to deffend my town and wanted fight on battle field the game CTD.

so i have tried to correct the wrong range in the files but after that the game crashes too. second log

now i don't know if there is a problem in RR a RC or in the export_descr_unit.txt
second thing is, that the number of unit was not that high as i hope - order spearman normaly have 75 man, after installed the mode a could train only up to 100 man - other infantry just 63 man, cavalry only 32, all artillery only 21, all missile unit only 71 man.
so i had too install the previous version of RR and RC to be able fight on the field![]()
Ok for the 1st thing: if you play the same battle (same conditions and units) without replacing the EDU...what happens? Maybe it's an RC problem. I don't change anything regarding range of units, so it's strange...:hmmm:I'll take a look at the EDU in the lines you comment and I'll let you know
About the 2nd: The sizes are if the game is played in HUGE scale mode, so if you play in that way then it could be that some unit sizes aren't changed yet (it's all spearmen or only some of them???)

1. dammit!i was so hungry for big battle that i didn't try to play without changing the EDU
i hope u can understand, how helpless and disapointed a have feel when the game CTD because of my expectation. i'll try and hit u back.
2. sorry pal, but i can't follow u because of my english skills (german would be much better- i'm from slovakia by the way). i didn't start new campaign - i just had continue my current. loaded and and look on the train new units in my castle.
PS: after reinstalling to previous version of RR and RC and loading the current saved game the unit size of retrained man have stayed.
