    If you like you've the file changed in the first post, but this file is from ; SS v6.0 with RC 1.4/1.5

    so I named it that way...

    About the castle...I don't know where in the EDU changes that I insist that the program only changes the soldier line.

    So shall I just edit the file in the first post 'SS v6.0 with RC 1.4/1.5' and transfer the unit size changes implemented into the original SS 6.1 EDU file I have? Thanks

    Really? :hmmm: Strange! That's the file we talked about a few posts ago! It looks to me that's the SS60+RC14/15 file (because the first line in the EDU says so) but if you're sure that's the SS61 without any mod....

    Let's see, download the named as SS60+RC14/15 file (it's yours but changed) and let me know if it works fine ok? If so, I'll rename the download!

    Hi ignasigh, again!
    Thanks for the previous EDU u fixed for me! Now i come to you again with a question. How did you edit the "SS 6.1 + RR 1.0 + SSTC version" EDU file? by that i mean, how did you edit the RR 1.0 EDU file? because everytime i try to change anything within that file, I crash back to desktop, when trying to start the game.

    If you dont know what is causing this. Maybe you could(if you have time and if you want) could change the small tweaks for me within the edu?
    If so, the changes I want to be made is; Lower the upkeep cost of dismounted and mounted knights to 250(dismounted) and 350(mounted). Secoundly i would have most of the pike units changed so they have second weapon(sword), especially burgher pikeman, pike militia and byzantium pikeman.

    Hi aNarion!

    I guess that the file I posted works fine, but that when you make any change on it it crashes isn't it?

    1st request --> Ricebowl asked something similar regarding unit costs, I've to think about it as it means I've to change 10 files. In fact, keeping the cost of units low means that you'll have to face several huge armies before defeating a faction...and if I increase it too much it could equal the cost of knights to spear militia (no good!)
    2nd request --> I don't know how to change the second weapon yet, (stat_sec line?), can't you make this change without having a crash¿?

    @Ricebowl meanwhile, can you post the EDU of AOR and I'll change it and post for everyone?

    1st request, well the only file u have to edit is EDU(not 10 files), if u change the upkeep cost, and as i said, its not a big difference from what it was, only the knights upkeep that should be tweaked. as an example;

    stat_cost 1, 1180, 480, 90, 70, 1180, 4, 200
    stat_cost 1, 1180, 280, 90, 70, 1180, 4, 200

    dont need to do much more then this(this is dismounted gothic knight).

    2nd request, it's not really hard to make a second weapon, just need to change the second weapon stat;

    stat_sec 3, 2, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, sword, 45, 1

    You can copy this line above, to all the pikemans, and balance the damage depending on what unit. you dont need to change anything more then this, to have a second weapon..

    Would have done this my self if the game didnt crash, everytime

    Hi!

    I've to change the existing 10 different version of the EDU...I want to keep them in the same line, though sometimes it's difficult.

    I don't understand why it crashes because you change the second weapon, I'm not a TW engine expert but I think it's something that's not related, same situation with the cost, shouldn't be important...

    Well, about costs I've to think about the "logical" way of increasing, maybe a % about the basic cost is the best approach, but some units have not been increased, so it's not "fair" to make the expensier whithout reason.

    But im doing this for self modding, dont really care about balance.. hm, im using the novgorod mod aswell now, with RR 1.0.. Same here, as fast as i touches anything within the EDU i'll crash..

    It's not a matter of wanting, I can easily change the program to change this value, as it's something that's not related with the attack or defending values I can apply the same % to all of them. But I want to clarify that it's not self-mod at all, I wanted to make a file that would be useful for everyone interested in. I'd like to have some ideas about that change from all "users" (if any)

    I'd like to make first a manual slight change to see if it crashes or not, what change did you do? I want to reproduce the same, please post the before line --> after line

    Yes its wierd.. but it seems like it crashes whenever i touch anything within the edu.. when I got the RR 1.0, SSTC edu installed..

    If Byg doesn't change anything of the EDU, then the Novgorod file is enough.

    If it does, or you want to be sure that it won't crash, post the EDU and I'll add to the changed collection

    Okay, thought u did it manually from the beginning.

    One example of the changes i made was following:
    (This is the stat cost of the feudal knight)

    Before line

    stat_cost 1, 1110, 600, 120, 95, 1110, 4, 180

    After line

    stat_cost 1, 1110, 400, 120, 95, 1110, 4, 180

    I have the same problem as aNarion (i.e. when I manually change something in the EDU, the game crashes when I try to start it).
    So, since I'd like to fiddle a bit with said EDU, Ignasigh, could you tell me how to edit stuff in it without incurring in CTDs?
    BTW, what I'm trying to do is alter the units' size.

    EDIT: Nevermind, I found what my problem was: I was trying to set the unit size to more than 100.

    Problem fixed, i forgot i didnt install SSTC this time around.

    Are you planning to increase the numbers of cavalry as well? I have a full stack of 18 cards of cavalry each with 30 units and the army doesnt seem very epic at all. I realize that increasing cavalry numbers may be more difficult since you have to code for the ridden animal as well.

    I'm guessing that this is a work in progress and more unit changes are in the works, yes? I look forward to further changes I just totally overran a unit of rebels who didnt seem to have had their numbers increased
