For your info...
I've just started to make changes...yesterday I got Egypt and all italian factions correctly migrated.
Well, I expect to finish it by beginning of the next week the maximum.![]()

as i respect your privacy, your time and so on i will patiently wait until it's done![]()
The wait is over
The compatibility with RR 1.2 and RC 1.7 is now tested and work fine. I wait for your feedback, unbalances, suggestion and unit size coherency.

Save Compatible and also does it work with BGRIV as well?

Save compatible --> Yes & no, new units will be created with the new size, as well as if you retrain them. Old ones will remain as they are until you retrain.
BGRIV --> I don't know as I never use this mod, if you can, post me the EDU of BGRIV + RR12 and I'll take a look if there are changes on the file.

I don't get it. Care to explain why 225 spearmen vs. 94 Elites (in your mod) is balanced the same way as 150 spearmen vs. 90 elites?
The balance is only maintained through equal percentage increases, just like with normal unit size multiplier in the game. By your logic, the game balance swings in a huge way depending on whether you're playing small (30 vs 50) or huge (90 vs 150).
I think you're simply intimidated by the concept of bigger elite units in some weird way.
Sure...
What do you mean about "elites"? Because heavy inf size is updated too...
It's not always a matter of "numbers" but a matter of attack/def/movility stats. Maybe you can find weird that pikemen are 250 in most of the cases, well you've to think about their "movility". The same happens with heavy horse archers, they are good with the bow, as well as charging, if I "size-percentage" them they'll become damn good, and the stupid AI will start to recruit them more often.
Well, in case my arguments are not good enough for you, there's another mod that changes unit sizes with a percentage way![]()
I hope you enjoy what I've done for the MTW2-Kingdoms-SS mod:
Obviously if you've improved their statistics instead of increasing their number in an equal way I totally understand what you're saying. In that case you'd be distinguishing the difference between numerous but "normal" units vs. the skilled but few knights.
However, if that's not the case, you've still not responded to the question of how explain that the original game's unit size modifiers are percentage based across the board, and not selective like yours. Are you saying this system is inherently unbalanced and if so, what is the "correct" unit size for balance in this case?
Well IMO it's unbalanced, I explain changes in depth in the 1st post. Anyway, there are many ways of changing the "numbers", percentage, selective or an hybrid of both. There are many ways of changing other stats too, and you can find many examples in SS, DLV etc...
What's the "correct" rebalancing? I don't know, it's something quite personal that's what is reflected in that mod, and if someone don't like this rebalance feel free to install any other size-modifier (percentage, etc..) they are quite good too!!
I personally find the game much better with the mod, but I'm sure that many people don't think the same![]()

how do you install this were is the EDU
can you help
Hi Toby, the installation is quite simple.
1) Download one of the 2 zip files (depending on the size you want to play), then open it and choose one of the subzips located there (depending on what's your current version of SS, and the patch you want to apply) and take the EDU file located in.
2) Backup your EDU (export_descr_unit.txt) file located in your MTW2 installation folder/mods/ss61/data
3) Replace the EDU of the step 2 by the one chosen in the step 1
Enter the game and you should see that the unit sizes are increased.
Let me know if it works for you!
