    Default Quick Question

I know that you can't change faction heir's in the game but for England William (age 24) starts out as the faction heir even though he is younger than his brother Robert (age 26). I like to keep my faction heirs on the left side of the screen where Robert so I have tried to change it in the descr_strat file but that didnt work (I gave Robert the faction heir trait and took it away from William and after I started a game and looked he still was the faction heir with the little lil crown in the family tree screen while Robert had the faction heir trait. Can it be changed?

Did you give him the heir description, like this:
    Robert, named character, male, heir, age 26, x 76, y 199
the trait "traits Factionheir 1" is just for the traits system used by SS

Err - the reason he was given the faction heir trait was because he was the heir and next king, otherwise you might as well put 'bob' in as heir. A better solution would have been to change the ages and order of characters.

How would I do that? The method above works fine. Also isnt the first son always the heir to the throne in real life and the game...if that is the case Robert should be the heir and not William. This is for early era England.

No, William Rufus became king of England upon the death of William the Conqueror. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_the_Conqueror. Just because CA did not know this is no need to let the game carry on as if it was always the eldest (there are a great many times when it was not, mainly due to the heir offending his dad).

To edit the ages so that the game goes as you wish and its historically correct just edit their age and then find this line

relative William Plantagenet, Matilda, Robert, Adela, William, Henry, end

As these have to be in age order.

    Hope that makes sense.
