Gold Edition - can't unlock factions

Using the descr_stats file, I want to unlock Byzantium - I can get it to appear in the list of factions when selecting a new campaign but when I attempt to start it merely returns me to the singleplayer menu. What's the dizzle, yo?

delete the map.rwm and it ought to work.

Sorry to double-post, but it still doesn't work.

In fact, I've just noticed I can't seem to start a new campaign at all.

Did you set the Desc_strat back to read only?

I've had that problem before and that little change worked for me

...then again I don't have gold version so the file might not be read only by default (kingdoms files aren't set to read only so maybe gold is the same way)

You caused a crash, probably within the descr_strat file. Post the first 30 lines.
