In the game, right click the city name on the details scroll, then type away.

It should be enabled already in XGM, especially if you are playing on BI.
And you are not a retard, this is not a well known feature of RTW.
ServiusTheGreat, in my book you are definitely not a retard because you just made my day. I had never thought of doing anything of the like. What an amazing gesture towards your general. And thank for asking that question.![]()

Why are you naming your good Roman cities with Greek names? Polis is undeniably Greek, I don't know if there is an equivalent in Latin though.
hehe yeah i felt dirty doing it,and to answer your question about the latin equivalent wouldnt it be ople like constantinople, but opolis sounds so much cooler and im trying to make it like a very greeco roman empire with mixes of both cultures,in fact i currently have a hybrid legion with cohorts and hoplites

Alright, that's cool.
However, I think the '-ople' in Constantinople is because the Byzantines spoke Greek mainly, so it is from '-polis', but Anglicized.
'Constantinopolis' sounds rather better tbh.

Yep, I think the most correct Latin forms should look like this:
Constantinus > Constantinopolis (aka Constantinople), Hadrianus > Hadrianopolis (aka Adrianople), Pompeius > Pompeiopolis, etc.
Other Roman naming options could be e.g. Colonia Agrippina (ancient name of Köln/Cologne, Germany), Augusta Treverorum ("City of Augustus in the land of the Treveri", modern Trier/Treves in Germany), or simply Caesarea.

If you want late Roman (Latin) names for a bunch of places, here ya go:

EDIT: How do you do thumbnails? The map was HUGE!
Great map, but everything is in English, so it's not too much help with Latin names of cities.
Huh? Did you look at the map? The only English names are titles. Cities are in Latin, and so are regions (top right).
I'm sorry, you are right, many of the names are in Latin, I didn't notice those at first, but still many cities' and some regions' names are in English; after all the Romans didn't call their city "Rome", nor the the city of Athens just that. It appears that those cities which still exist or have proper English names are in English, for example Egypt, not the Latin Aegyptus, but everywhere else the names are Latin.
