You dislike sieges? They are awesome!
Though if you mean the constant rebel city-taking of the first few turns, I second that.

but it would be nice sometimes to just have a ton of pitched battles
I don't really like doing custom battles so kinda like an alternative to that
I'm not an expert on scripting so I cant tell you if it's possible through a script or not
No idea if this is possible but just off the top of my head a way around the siege would be to reduce the time a siege can last to one (or none) turn so that the enemy always has to sally forth straight away. The number of turns a siege can last is dependent on the level of the walls at the settlement but I'm not sure if that aspect of walls can be edited or not. :hmmm:
could you just make a siege battle load a field battle instead of the settlement?
In RTW, I made this possible, by deleting the entry in the file that built the city. You ended up with a town square with nothing around it. I will see if it is possible tomorrow.
