    Default The Korean Connection

I've noted a lot of press activity following an israeli bombing run, and more specifically in an article in today's Sunday Times, that there is a clear link between North Korea and Syria. DPRK and Syria especially appear to be very close knit. Given that Syria has a 30kw nuclear reactor and the Koreans are estimated to have 10 nuclear weapons (Sunday Times), should the US not be more focused on taking these out rather than Iran?

If they have already got the nukes, then no. Nukes are scary. It puts you off attacking people.

We could take care of Iran and North Korea in a fraction of the time and cost if you'd like.
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Worry about your own country's health care mess, then you can brag about bombing unarmed villagers into submission.

The US will never invade North Korea because they are in China's sphere of influence, it's as simple as that gentlemen...

As if China REALLY gave two for N. Korea. They may have been on their side and supplied them with goods, but in the end, it's just a worthless pathetic piddling piece of land.

What I quoted from you is true, but I think you fail to see the bigger geo-political reasons. To put it simple, the USA would never allow a invasion from China against Canada, China would never allow an US invasion on North Korea.
China needs North Korea, China want's to keep the status quo that has excisted for 50 years (with South Korea), why? So that they can use North Korea as a Joker Card in a poker game that is called world politics...

And on a sidenote, its was the North who was more powerfull and richer for decades, it's been going downhill for them since the late 70's but don't underestimate them...

First off, we have been working with the PRK to dismantle their nuclear weapons and nuclear weapons facilities and, in return, we make diplomatic concessions (no longer a state sponsoring terrorism) and foreign aid.

Secondly, the only reason North Korea hasn't been invaded is because they have countless pieces of artillery targeting South Korean cities, including Seoul. I guess the nuclear weapons have something to do with it also.

    Off-topic, irrelevant.

It may be a pathetic, scorched piece of land, but the Chinese are completely obsessed with keeping the integrity of what many call "the Sinosphere", or their backyard, simply put.
