    Default Rebels and Milan?

    Hi there

    SS 6 best mod imo.

But i would really like a fix to keep rebels from taking AI factions capitals.

Historicaly, Milan was a much bigger powerhouse than Genoa, and the center of western culture and a legacy to arcitechture. Just making a case to (hope hope) get the Famigla de Ducale back again, to their rightfull place in the game.

Question: Have u too experienced the pope taking Florence?

Thx for a great mod, have tried several other mods, but this is far the best.

Thx to kong for making the game playable again.

A debate was held over Milan vs Genoa and the consenus was that in terms of involvement in the global history of the period and the strength of the 'faction' in the starting period Genoa was a far better faction to have in game. This does not mean that Milan was not important, just that in a choice between the two, Genoa was the preferred choice. In a later period game, Milan would be a better choice, but there are not enough faction slots to have both.

The Pope should remain inactive for 10 turns, after that, well anything goes. so yes he might capture Florence if it is still rebel.

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

I actually like the change. Makes it more interesting and fun. Also, it was a great choice to make the defenses of Milan pretty formidable at the outset to match the importance of the city. One thing I have noticed though, and maybe Quark can speak to this since he seems to be answering a lot of questions about 6.0 in the forums, is it possible to have rebel settlements retrain/reinforce their garrisons after a battle? Lets say the settlement is large enough for two training slots, have two of their units retrained each turn? I watched as Milan was attacked by HRE, then a couple of turns later Genoa, and then a couple of turns after that I simply walked into the city because their units were almost completely depleted.

BTW, I do like the fact the Pope doesn't just sit in Rome. Adds a fun dynamic to the game.

And Quark, I have noticed KK getting a lot of thanks for this mod and rightfully so, but it seems you have a heavy hand in it as well. I just wanted to say "thank you" to you as well. The SS team has done a great job in making a bland game have much more depth and playability.

Milan: well unfortuneately this is a hardcoded issue with the way the Ai works. What you could do is provide re-enforcements though by adding to the rebels in there, on say turn 10 and 20.

I wrote something like this in the beta to increase garrison sizes on hard, which is great for the player, but needs some tweaking for the Ai to cope with it.

Thanks: It can be slightly frustrating watching other people get rep for tweaking my work, but KK deserves all he gets. But thanks for the thanks, so to speak .

I personally think Milan should have a full stack with rebels instead of a halve one...

EDIT: To the OP, I changed the colour of Genoa back to green, its much better this way, maybe it could help you to...
