    Default How does education work?

I haven't played the older version of this mod so I have no idea. What bonuses does it give? I had a general who graduated but I didn't notice any stat changes or traits. Could someone explain this to me?

    Thanks...

At the coming of age of a family member, you can keep him in a settlement with a school or university so he can be educated. I don't think its a 100% chance though.

Basically, two paths your young generals can take: Administration or Military. They should have traits that says if they are leaning towards governing settlements or military campaigns when they come of age. If he has the trait scholar, he can benefit more from studying. Upgrading schools to universities also help.

When you start a campaign, there should be a mini-tutorial that pops up if you need some more help on this.

if we put our general, when they come of age, in a castle do they then have a higher chance of becoming military minded.

Military Minded: No, its something you have or don't to reflect the inclination of the character. What they would do is have a chance of Military education.

What about the "Freshman" trait? It says "send the general to the capital, settlement with a church or a settlement with a developed barracks to pursue courtly, religious or military education respectively". Does this mean that military education can be got only from a castle and courtly from the capital etc?

So, if I have better educational buildings in a particular city, generals coming of age there have better chances of getting a higher level of education? And do their inclinations depend on the building present? What are the different levels? Graduate is the highest I've seen so far.

The general has to be in a settlement to continue his education right? But one of my generals was still increasing in levels when I took him out of the castle, he was military minded btw

Also, what exactly does better education do? Does it increase any stats or grant traits? Because I dont see anything new with my graduate general...

Sorry for all the question, I'm really confused right now. :hmmm:

Freshman: I really need to get rid of this as it lacks a medieval flavour, but essentially it is used as a counter to allow the system to figure out that you are at school. The traits 'value' will change up to Graduate, which reflects that they have finished training.

Buildings: Yes, better buildings = better chances at education, but once your time at school is over, you can only really develop in military education via battles.

Inclination alos effects how quickly you can aquire each type of education eg Military or Adminastrative.

Education increases several 'skills' so as you increase in education you may gain such thinks as + Trade, + Law, +Command, each of which is described in the trait eg Basic Western Education, Advanced Western Education.

If a character has got the trait scholar, well they can learn more.

Don' worry about asking questions, thats what a forum is for.

    Hope that helps.

Just noticed that traits like "Basic Western Education" appear one turn after graduate appears, that really had me confused.

Thanks a lot, that really helped...
