    Default Favorite Campaign/Faction

So, 6.0 has been out for a while, what campaigns have you played so far, and how have they been?

I've been playing as the kwarz, and have primarily been waiting out sieges in order to avoid unnecessary losses, not to mention it allows me to exploit the advantage of my cavalry.

However, the disadvantage is that I'm very far away from any opposing nation. While I enjoy having room to expand, as the Kwarezmian Empire, it's a little much. I can make a 20 settlement empire without fighting a single opposing force. I guess I have to wait for the mongols, eh?

Well so far my 2 favorites are Teutonic Order and Kingdom of Jerusalem. (See Sig)

T.O Is great when i want to have to play delicately, while playing as KoJ i have more room to expand since im surrounded by muslims, almost much more chances to call crusades down on peeps. Way fun watching fatimids get slaughtered and me swooping in on settelements.

I've Played England and the Templars.

England I stopped for a bit to play the Temps but it was great kicking a** with them.

The Templars are awesome I have destroyed the fatimids and allied with the Kwarz, mainly because I ain't got the units to fight allot of HC atm and want to see how big they can get and to see if they can fight off the Mongols. But I'm expanding into moorish land atm and i'm having a great time.

    FUN FUN FUN AS IRELAND!

It all started with the English bearing down on me. It was great fun holding them off! I sent my prince to the Crusades in Vilinius and it was uneventful for him, but his troops came back just in time to sack London when the English landed on Ireland while my peeps were gone. I got back just in time to!

So, thanks much in part to William Wallace and his help stopping the English at Nottingham (oh but he wouldn't have done it without me cause I stopped the King of Englands very nice army. Plus.. I couldn't have done it without the Scottish without Wallace to finish what I could not so it was very fun (The King hurt me bad lol.. even tho I won! ..barely).

So, successfully with London, Exeter, Carneveron, Winchester and Ireland I sat and built while nuturing my perfect relations with the Scottish. We fought together, we died together, we eventually won together and soon enough were both Excommunicated together..

Never, have I had a more clever campaign AI.. I'm sooo happy!

Next line of business was with the newly excommunicated Spanish. I had a score to settle with them since they landed next to Cork and I had to attack them in order to fight the English once more, and they hurt my progress nicely in getting to the next island over. Well, it just so happened Pope that excommunicated me finally died and then look who's up for the job from over there in Lithuania that I had totally forgotten about? My Old as Hell starting Priest! And I would not have won, but Scotland had like 4 cardinals since they were hitting denmark and that way and getting some nice paganish cities. So, elected, crusaded! Spain, Silves of course. Get down there, and sit, letting all the help come down that could and for good reason too! Spain is STRONG!! Full stacks coming down to the crusaders and I'm like wow.. eventually they are hurting and I have the top 4 Iberian regions after giving portugal Silves and with those moving to a very stacked castle that opens the way up to france (my allies too, cant wait to have them with me soon!!!) So, right now i'm at the gates of that castle with my Kings old full strength crusading army in lead by a new kid that was "born to conquer" Pulled his ass from Dublin Quick!

So there I was, poised to take the Iberian Penninsula but the Moors are eating away at the decaying Spanish very quickly and it's them that'll soon be feeling the Pints!

Im loving my HRE campaign at the moment, its overtaking the Turks as my favourite campaign.

I did have to restart it once though, the damned "Offends the Nobility" trait on your starting faction leader WILL end your campaign early if you don't notice it.

I played Norway for a while but I missed a major part of the game as I was locked away in a corner with some low level settlements and after about 50 turns everyone else was far ahead of me. So I ended up starting over a England (love longbowmen)

I'm really enjoying my Venice campaing at the moment. It's much harder to expand then in 5.1. I'm at war with the HRE and have fought some epic battles for the control of Bern with them. I drove the Byzantines ouf of Greece and then ceasefired with them, but years later they launched a highly disciplined attack sieging Adrianople, Constantinople and Iraklion all at once...love the campaign, yet it's a pity that I can't really focuss on my economy. Venice is the only faction I played yet.

I was playing as Poland at first, but gave up after a while because of too many mistakes.

After picking a random faction, I'm now playing as France, which is way easier than Poland, mainly cos they rake in so much more cash.

    Late era for both.

Another reason to love HRE. You get generals like this

    Well, 'bump'.

It's been a couple weeks since the last post in this thread, and instead of starting a new one, I figured I'd revive this one.

I've given up on my Kwarz campaign for now, there is just too large of a rebel buffer between you and any potential enemy to bother starting a war any time soon. I started as France, but...lacking HA just makes me feel sad on the inside.

I'm considering starting another Kwarz (mine was lost patching to 6.1) or a Byzantine, but I can't decide between the two.

If you start as Kwaz again you could always relocate to england

I've been playing with the templars but it gets boring once you have a solid foundation in the middle east, it's too easy to expand if you ask me. But it's pretty hard to expand to Britain and Italy because I'm getting attacked by the moors, turks and kwarz, and I get the feeling that byz is preying on some of my cities and is gonna attack soon. So I can't afford to use part of my income to finance a few armies to attack Italy for example.

At the moment I am holding all historical provinces of Eastern Roman Empire (have 50) and am going to add the Justinian ones (20 to go). And am very satisfied with my (early era) campagn.

I am now really enjoying my Knights Templar early era campain in 6.1 vh/vh. I destroyed the Fatamid Caliphate very easily with the use of a crusade or two. My empire stretches from Ankara to the north, Mecca to the south, Alexandria in the west and and Baghdad to the east. After the destruction of the Fatamids it went relatively peasefull until a Jihad was called to reclaim Jerusalem...the Kwarezmian Empire, who where my allies, backstabbed me and send about three full stacks to Jerusalam. I am now fighting the Turks, Moors and Kwarezmians in the Holy Land and fought(and won) some epic battles near Jerusalem. Love it.
