    Turn the resolution to the lowest one just for the campiagn, turn shadows off for the campaign. Can't think of anything else.

    Definately turn off campaign shadows, it really helps.

    And also don't scroll around the campaign if one of the characters is selected it produces major lag for some reason.

    that's caused by pathfinding

    resolution change is pointless. kept it at 1920x1080.the fps went from 15 and shot up straight to 60 and never went down with the campaign shadows off.

    well this is off topic.but how do i run the game in windowed mode?

    There's an option in the medieval.cfg file, something like windowed=false. Change it to true. It might also be 0 or 1, I don't have access to it now..

    I've also noticed the lag in the campaign map, and it's quite horrible. And I have shadows turned off.

    i looked in the file "medieval2.preference" for windowed mode and found only wide screen. maybe wrong file?

    that's the file. If you don't have the windowed=true there, just put it there. I guess it goes under the [video] tab.

    open:
    • C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\Stainless_Steel_Kingdoms.cfg
    and add these lines:
    • [video]
      battle_resolution = 1024 768
      campaign_resolution = 1024 768
      windowed = true
    if your desktop resolution is 1024x768 or smaller, then change both of those values to 800 600

    I just checked it. It has to be windowed=1 under the [video] tab. works for me.

    I'm thinking it didn't work because you have to lower the resolution in the file also. Since it was set to full screen before just lower it down to like 1024x768 in the .cfg file
    I hope this helps.
