Default I left it paused for 12 hours...

...when I came back my screen saver was on, and I tried to alt-tab back. It just sorta locked up and I had to manually reboot.

Since then, the monitor turns off whenever the game is loaded for more than a few seconds, and this happens with other games as well. I can't really hear the fan going either.

Not sure what went wrong, I've tried cleaning all the dust out but it seems like something needs to be reset somehow. Suggestions?

If you can't hear the fan, replace it. Without a fan, your computer will overheat and the first thing to go is your video.

I had a similar problem on christmas eve, went to make some food and left medieval 2 running, came back and the game was frozen, tried to reboot and the computer was dead. Turns out i needed a new powerpack and it took me 3 months to buy one! My advice... sort your fan out like irishron suggested.

Maybe he was downloading weekend entertainment!

Seriously, it is most likely memory leak.

Hmm I do keep m2tw running for a long time (like days or something lol), sometimes it crashes after I get back after many hours of not playing the game but thats all I can just start the game again if I want.

Maybe the people in here that have this problem can say what their graphics card is so we may be able to figure out what the problem is.

You can't the game takes too much stress on a system and like I said earlier, memory leak takes over and your computer runs out of resources and cannot continue.

Yea, my Radeon card blew out. (for the record, i fell asleep with it paused, was exhausted that day).

Had to get an NVIDIA 8400GS. Nice.

    MII plays even better! Muhahah!

However, I get a bug with the new card where the unit spot circles don't come up when you press "spacebar" (in order to show where the units destinations are) in battle mode.

    Hmm...
