    Default Downloading

Hey I was thinking about downloading Roma Surrestum 1.5, but I had a few question first. I'm somewhat new to modding things, so these may be no brainers.

1: If I download this, will I still be able to play the vanilla Rome? Also, will I be able to play BI if BI has already been downloaded?

2: I have done some tweaking around the files for RTW, trying to unlock all the teams (I only got Macedonia and Pontus ). Will this affect anything?

    Thanks for the help!

    1. No you cannot play vanilla and BI

    2. No worries about locked factions in RS you'll be able with play them all right away.

1: Not vanilla rome, unless you copy the whole rome total war folder and install RS there. I'm not sure about BI, but i think it's unplayable.

2:99.9 % sure that it shouldn't affect anything

No, number 2 won't affect anything, the descr_strat file gets overwritten anyway.
As the others said, if you want to be able to play vanilla, copy the directory and install RS in the copy.

I believe I have two copies of the RTW file, due to the fact that I didn't want to mess up the game when I change the descr_strat file. Oh no wait, I just made a copy of the descr_strat, not the whole game. How would I go about copying the whole game? (I can't remember how I copied the descr_strat file LOL) Thanks again!

Just select your Rome: Total war folder, then click ctrl + c, unselect the folder and press ctrl + v.

Ok it's copying. So when I download Roma Surrectum 1.5, it will downlaod over just one of my two RTW copies?

I suggest you re-name the new folder (it should already be named something like : Rome TW (Copy)) and call it RS.

Leave one folder as your main and never install anything into it, just copy more from it if you want to try another mod

Install the game into the file that you have just named RS

Ok I just renamed it to Roma Surrectum. So when I download it, I'll get to choose which file it'll download onto?

    Alright

Also, I guess BI will work still because I will have a RTW file left?

Yup, change the default directory and browse to find the destination where you want it to go

Hey, since I copied my RTW file and renamed one of them RS, will I still be able to play BI since I have an unchanged RTW file? I haven't downloaded RS yet; I wanted to make sure I got everything I need before I did.

Yes, because that BI file will not be broken and overwritten by RS

Sweet! Tanks for all your help. I'll download RS later today when I have the time. It looks amazing by the way, but I bet you already knew that.

It would have to be bought in a shop or downloaded from the SEGA website.

If you want it to play RS, you dont need to have it- RTW will be fine, you'll just have less naval invasions

I hope for your sake, you mean legally, although I doubt it.

Legally, perhaps Steam has it available for purchase?
Illegal downloads cannot be discussed here, read the ToS.

Alrigth I downlaoded RS, but something happened. When I clicked on the imperial campaign, it kept popping up with "choose an item from the menu". So after a couple of tries I signed off the game, and a notice popped up about some error and an expected starting date. what happened, and how can I fix this?
