Default Playing a campaign, How to not get bored?

I have a question, whats a good faction that stays exciting all game? i've tried H/H, i heard VH/VH is a bit too retarted.

I've played as venice, engalnd etc so many others. Venice and England i got the most turns through, england about 45 and venice around 80.

I just cant stay into 1 campaign. I'll quit and start playing something else. How do i stop this? Whats a faction i wont get bored with?

Yeah I also tend to restart alot of campaigns, my advice is stick with and play on a hard difficulty level. Oh and England and Venice are kinda easy factions, try the Templar on VH/VH it's kick ass...

Can anyone tell me what about VH/VH is supposed so be so retarded? I hear the diplomacy doesn't make sense. What does that mean?
Is it all about diplomacy or is there anything else? And why not H/VH if it's the diplomacy?

Just try to play different factions - for example try to play 1 day as Golden Horde, and another day as Ireland.

personally, i would try HRE- ur right in the middle of it all, and youve got fations from pretty much all directions to worry about.

Another may be Jerusalem (or templar depending on which campaign)- it is pretty tough to be the only christian faction in an all muslim area. You have to deal with conversion and non-stop attacks from turks and egypt

I always role-play aswell, with my entire faction, I never really aim to take all the settlements you need to etc. for instance, when I played as england, I only took the british isles, and then waged a slow war against the french, not taking their cities etc. just, waging large battles. I don't like it when I've got too many settlements to manage, it just gets.. I don't know, too much.

The best thing not to get bored I guess is to have several campaigns running, and just load up the one you feel like playing at the moment, one in the northwest, with some european warfare, one in the northeast, in the dark forests and steppes, one in the southeast, desert, cavalry, lots of fun. And maybe one in spain, but I don't really like the factions there (except for the moors, but they always get crushed).

And take breaks and play other games, or perhaps just.. do other stuff. I atleast, get bored when playing this game for a long period of time (I've played it every day for a couple of weeks now and, well, I'm quite fed at the moment).

Yes i have the same thing i dont like to expend my borders so fast the game will turn into a verry laim campaign.
If i play hotseat campaign whit my brother is always Templers Faction kinda boring though he has the urge to expand his borders and when i going to bathroom he uses Add_money Ore auto_win attacker.

Anyway if dont uses cheats in turn 100 aprox he almost has whole egypt and expanding to to the moors and i still managing 6 factions aprox.

i also like to play like history expanding borders how they used to did it i gives more excitement to play the game how The old qonqeurers did it !
    I'm from Holland

The diplomacy being retarded means stuff like the ai backstabbing like in vanilla. Other problems like autoresolving- its very bad at it

Oh i fight all my battles out, usually autoresolve when i begin to get bored.

Only thing is, i for some reason HATE playing early era, things are so undeveloped. I like to jump into a faction that is somewhat ready to fight, templars are so small. i'll give them a shot right now though.

yea im great at playing TF2.. engineer and spy represent

Anyway just tried Knights Templar, ROFL.

    H/VH

By turn 16 i was -3225 money, couldnt generate enough so i kept going further in debt. Then, i tried 4 times to take Antioch and i failed. Units suck ASS in the beginning, peasants fail vs spearmen, pilgrims are so stupid. Spearmen were getting there ass handed to them vs other spearmen. failure

    Anything else?

Basicly you are saying that the game is to hard for you and you want an easy faction to play with, because when you are playing with a difficult faction you get bored... Ok, why don't you try england on medium/medium settings then...

No. Templars definately were too difficult, but that isnt the point. Im getting bored no matter what for some reason, want some suggestions on other factions that might solve this.

What im saying is, whats a faction that is exciting. No boring crap.. I know its kind of vague..

i was in the same situation....i got bored really fast because every time i played with a western faction i would always get bored since it was always he same guys i was versing and playing with eg: spear militia. What i needed was unique units fast so i decided playing in late campaign. Then i started playing as Byzantines because you have Muslim armies from one side and European armies on the other. That way i didn't get bored as fast. And Byzantines have all these cool unique units, so i chose them
Also i wanted to recreate the roman empire, or now with SS6 i can aslo recreate Alexanders empire.

f you still think its too undeveloped mod it yourself in the decr_strat so that ai already has a very developed barracks, etc.

But the thing that really got me back was hotseat campaigns. They are just much better because there is more variety
"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

    Beware of scoundrels
