Slow Attacking

Whenever I start a battle I notice that in the heat of battle(About 100 degrees), most of the enemy soldiers and my soldiers will look at each other for about 5 seconds before anyone moves.(Slower than mollasses in January goin up a hill).

I seem to remember finding a tutorial how to make it a fast and furious(pun intended) fight but cant find it.

The other day I was playing a small battle of about 600 soldiers on Grassy Plain, and it took 30 minutes for the battle to end with each side having the same amount of swordsmen and armoured sergeants. That sucked.
