Is there any unit that rivals the dismounted gothic knights?

Ive tried several custom battles but i cant seem to find anything that can beat this unit one on one. If nothing else rivals them in terms of power is there something about them that limits their effectiveness?

im pretty sure dismounted gothic knights are the best infantry. most cavalry will still kick their asses if allowed to charge tho.

dismounted heavy infantry with AP (one hand or two hand), janissary heavy infantry or any pikemen (phalanx) will kick their ass easly 1vs1

attack/defend. 4/20 is extremely good for infantry units

hence my love of english armoured swordsmen... fully upgraded with swordsmith guild and exp... whooo, nasty buggers and dam hard to take down.

just too bad they use a sword instead of a mace.

then again... surprisingly enough, ive had luck with dismounted english knights against gothics as well... IF i get the initial charge... that first charge from a fully boosted DEK is absolutly vicious, even against armored opponents. but it is a close fight against gothics... gotta take out enough of em in the charge to really hurt em since once they get bogged down the gothics will lose men alot more slowly.

only 4 attack? doesn't seem much to me... ok.. maybe with armor piercing and 20 defense because they'll keep fighting longer

exactly. spearmen with 6/14 lose very quickly to dismounted knights with 4/20
