Launcher error-

Hi, I just reformatted my hard drive and can no longer get Medievall II or Kingdoms to run. I reinstalled it on steam and the steam launcher comes up, but the actual Medieval II launcher never appears for eitehr medieval II or Kingdoms. If I try to manually launch the launcher, I get the following error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)." (this is a launcher.exe application error). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my other steam games work.
