or do the muslim bodyguard seem like tanks? they absolutely slaughter my mailed knights and/or bodyguard cavalry in a completely equal charge or standing engagement every time (i.e. I lose 10-15 guys without any or only 1 loss on their part). It's like my knights are made out of glass compared to their bodyguard. It's beginning to really get to me. Although maybe the AI is actually competent now and I'm just not used to it

yeah tell me about it. I was the byzantines and i had 200 men of byzantine spearmen and 48 men of trebizond archers.

2 Fatamid bodyguards charged at me and massacred everyone. I killed 4 men in total 0_o
and 3 were killed by my trebizond archers

I play on H/H and I never noticed this... well actually I do but most bodyguards seem strong. Hint try to use your faction leaders/heir bodyguard, they're really strong. I always use my bodyguard when attacking other bodyguard, either that or surround them with spears.

that's really what I'm complaining about, when I do that, they seem to have the upper hand every time, and I'm forced to throw everything I have at them and hope their general dies quickly or I take massive losses trying to bring them down. (For the record, I'm playing on H/H also.)

I wouldnt know anything about Byzantium, i never play it. But the Bodyguards seem to have become ridiculously strong. I had Crusaded on Cairo, conquering it and a turn later i get besieged and attacked by Egyptian forces.

As soon as the gates are down the AI throws his infantry forward, all goes smooth as i have 900 Crusader sergeants there.

After a while, all of a sudden their 2 Generals kick in counting about 60 men strong together, my spearmen get massacred.

However i quickly caught on to this and sent my own 2 generals in, quickly and luckily killed the 2 generals and slaughtered about 300 of their remaining infantry without losing a single bodyguard unit....

Bodyguard dont seem to wear steel armours anymore, its like they're made of solid steel....

btw itsa not only muslim but all bodyguards. KK wanted to make bodyguards less decisive in battles. well there the opposite. Now its not a matter of how many troops you have and what tactics you use but rather how many bodyguards you have

my generals are pussy , they die too fast , so I dont know hat u guys are talking about ^^
